I loved the drama so much despite so many issues too, and you made some very valid/good points too in the frustration…
hey it's cool, i was expecting push back to my initial comment given the fact that it seems i'm in the minority when it comes to Shao Shang π but i stand by what i said. ππΏππΏππΏ
In the most respectful way I wanna say you donβt understand anything and you donβt understand the extreme…
yep she's still a brat to me. i will not deny there were moments i was rooting for her. i liked the fact that she stood up for herself but for me she still didn't appear to mature out of what her mother said about her. it may have been harsh but her mother did not lie.
It was Zisheng who chose to abandon Shao Shang. He very well knew how her life had been and her thoughts on how…
I still maintain he did not abandon her, he let her go. he was about to commit a serious crime and didn't want her and her family to be implicated. if one thing we can all say is that ZiSheng wanted the best for her. she never gave anyone the opportunity to love her. she was always second guessing things people did or say. i wanted the writers to help her deal with her issues and to me they dropped the ball on that. how can she expect openness when she did not give it her self. how many times did ZiSheng ask her to come to him? to share with him her issues, troubles in the palace? did she do that????????? no no no!!! he always found out after the fact. so expect something if you yourself are unwilling to do the same. his aunt instigated him??? were we watching the same drama??? did you forget that he saw his father killt not even killed, killt? and how it was just by an unfortunate luck, he exchanged his clothes with his cousin? that he escaped death by the skin of his teeth??? the aunt did not have to instigate anything. he had to get revenge for his father.
In the most respectful way I wanna say you donβt understand anything and you donβt understand the extreme…
.um for the record i never said you could not give your opinion. it was your sad comment that threw me. and i think you are giving me too much credit. i hardly think my review would deter anyone from watching the drama. as you would have seen from above 2 persons gave 10s so yeah π
So the ML let her go? Why? Did the FL understand why he made this decision?
Thank you!! π it's like no one else is seeing this. i know she had a messed up childhood, i'm not arguing that but come on people so did ZiSheng. i needed her to deal with her trauma and the drama didnt do that for me. i wanted her to come to the realization on her own of why ZiSheng did what he did. he was always chasing her, going after her, soothing her. i wanted one time for Shaoshang to go after him. Cuz for me many of the things she did was reactive and not proactive.
I had posted before stating CSS holds on grudges against Zisheng and her parents specifically her mom, a little…
*sigh* y'all keep glossing over things with Shaoshang. π« First of she didn't save her father, it was a team effort. ππΏππΏππΏ she would have died or been killed in the jail. many times Zisheng had to hold her back from going half corked looking for her father. she didn't know where he was or even where to search. ZiSheng had to calm her down, he had to tell her they needed a plan, a strategy. he had to stop her many times from giving away how much info they already knew.π« Shaoshang going off by herself was not selfless; because now everyone had to worry not only about her father but her as well. wondering if she was ok or dead. she doesn't think about the consequences of her actions at all.πππ and let's be real, Zisheng had to mitigate alot of the aftermath of her actions.π We all know that ZiSheng was crazy in love with Shaoshang; so maybe he thought he could have had it all. and it did look that way at first but then his uncle/father killed the only witness that could have given testimony of what really happened that night but that witness got killed by his uncle/father. there were times her schemes did get her and her family in trouble and it was ZiSheng once again who saved them. it was my general who had her to be recognized in public by the emperor. so please stop acting as if ZiSheng was the villan to Shaoshang. ZiSheng stood up for her at the party and instead of at least saying thank you to the man, what did she do??!?!? the heifer actually got mad and was petty with him.???! like what?π« is you serious?π« like how you mad that the man who claims to adore you just defended and stood up for you in public?!?!? like why are you mad he has power, influence, could command a room??? that didn't come easy. ππΏit was hard earned with his many battles won.ππΏ
In the most respectful way I wanna say you donβt understand anything and you donβt understand the extreme…
I didnt understand anything.???? LOL from your whole paragragh above (and next time use paragraghs please, it was confusing to read it but moving along) i see you are one of those who would put all the blame on Zisheng. So Shao Shang can be crafty and use others for her revenge but ZiSheng can't? Shao Shang wants openness from ZiSheng but can't give the same to him? How many times did we see him get upset with her after getting to know the things that have happened to her and she didn't not tell him; but wants him to be real and open with her???? Miss me with the hypocrisy please. She learned to change???? HOW???? No seriously, HOW?????π How can she be there for him if she didn't allow him to be there for her to???? make it make sense please. it's give and take. how can ask almost demand something and not shiw the same courtesy???π«π« How was he selfish, he let her go to save her and her family because he knew the gravity of his actions. also everything after that was her decision and no blame should be put on him. ZISheng was ready to die but she decided to save him. he had trauma too like serious trauma. he mentioned hearing the screams of people being killed, having nightmares but nooooo only Shao Shang gets to be the victim. *sigh*πππ Now the thing with her mother i can agree on to an extent. her mother was wrong in the way she tried to discipline and correct her. the scene where she argued against the engagement was really vicious. but what caught my attention after that was the lack of growth from Shao Shang to change the perception that her mother presented to everyone. she in fact showed everyone her mother didn't lie. and lastly it's not sad, not everyone is meant or should view something the same. different opinions can be presented to show another view of a drama.
So the ML let her go? Why? Did the FL understand why he made this decision?
And that's my issue. she makes everything about her. she refused to see it from his perspective. not everyone are like her parents. the drama never allowed the FL to deal and overcome these issues.
I had posted before stating CSS holds on grudges against Zisheng and her parents specifically her mom, a little…
Thank you!!!! it's so true she had the propensity to hold on to grudges and behaved like a real brat!!! She just couldn't think about anyone but herself and interests. Please do about the explanation.ππΏ
Ok unpopular opinion here and let me reiterate I SAID WHAT I SAID...ππΏππΏππΏ
This female lead was by far the most selfish, immature, ungrateful and most pettiest female I have ever seen.! (And that's saying alot. I thought the female lead in Shining Inheritance was ridiculous but Cheng Shao Shang takes the cake.π«) Not once in the 56 episodes did she ever show character growth! Everything she did was reactive and not proactive. I was tired and quite frankly getting irritated of the "my parents abandoned me, no one love me, I am what I am because of this" BS. Girl shut up!!! π« Not everything was about you!!! And let me say this as well the General did not abandon her; he let her go. He knew what he was going to do was very serious and the backlash of it would have negatively affected her family. He could have married her and roped her family in this but he loved her too much to cause her any problem. He did so much for her, would have died for her, loved her so much and because he didn't do what she wanted him to do, she left him?!?!? SHE ABANDONED HIM PEOPLE!!! ππΏππΏππΏ Anytime someone tried to correct her, to show her where she did wrong, advise her, she got pissy. What???? What really irked me was when he cautioned her to behave in the palace, she got mad. Like heifer you almost got killed!! Listen to somebody who knows! Not once did she genuinely opened up to him about anything and she gets mad when he does the same. It was the hypocrisy for me yall.π«π I really did not like the narrative from the drama/writers; like everything was Zi Sheng's fault. It seemed towards the end of the show, all the characters were putting all the blame on him. Yo he had to see his father murdered, his family murdered, being almost murdered as well and to top it all of bear the name of the one who killed his father and call said man father too!!!! But nooooooooooooo, all sympathy and empathy had to go to Cheng Shao Shang. HE HAD NIGHTMARES OF THE NIGHT IT HAPPENED PEOPLE!!!! Shao Shang never took the time to understand the general and was really (I'm going to say it) a bitch to him sometimes. πππ I wanted her to come to the realization of why Zi Sheng did what he did on her own and nothing prompting her. The scene where he was almost blown to bits made me so mad!!!! As far as I was concerned their reconciliation was not genuine; like I said reactive instead of proactive. *sigh* I have more to say but I'll end here.βπΏ
peace and freedom? my foot, what she wanted was to do whatever she wanted unhindered. anytime someone tried to correct her, she got upset and out came with that victim mentality mess. she herself described herself as unwilling to learn, stubborn and all that. it was time she grew up and realized that she can't do or always have things the way she wanted.π«
also no one forced her to get engaged to ZiSheng. i think the first time she accepted the proposal from ZiSheng was to spite her mother. that although her mother described her that way, this man still wanted to be with her, so there. there were times she was going to break it off but who backed her off that idea? Shao Shang herself. she remembered all the nice things that ZiSheng did for her and the love he showed to her.π
it's not going crazy, it's realizing what you can and can't do. and what could she have done by herself? really, what? even after she left by herself, who helped her? ZiSheng, so please she needed to realize her limitations and stop trying to handling things by herself. it was a team effort that saved her father. i will not say ZiSheng saved the day, that would be wrong but saying she saved her father is a misrepresentation of what happened.π«
again how can Shao Shang ask for openness when she herself was unwilling, flat out told him she not going to do it and she doesn't need his help. how you mad you're not getting something that you your self not giving out. make it make sense please.
it may have been harsh but her mother did not lie.
she never gave anyone the opportunity to love her. she was always second guessing things people did or say.
