I haven't read the novel and it's not really explained in the show but XL is the past life of her senior sect brother apparently she was told that he has to survive trials in order for him to be immortal but she's not told how he has to survive them or what the trials are. That's why she continues to save him because if he doesn't pass the trials that's it his soul will be gone.

The changed it Again? because it changed a while ago to be one episode on Sunday one episodes, one Monday, two episodes Tuesday and then one episode on Wednesday and Thursday

Yes because in his series light chaser rescue the other actor legitimately beat him up to the point where he had to be hospitalized and was on a liquid diet for a while due to the stitches in his mouth. Also I heard that that's why his makeup is a lot heavier probably to cover up the fading injuries to his face

from what I understand it's better explained in the novel they don't really explain it in the drama. The reason why she cares about XL so much is because he is or was supposed to become her immortal brother if he passes his mortal trial if he doesn't pass then his spirit will disappear forever. This was told to her by her father never explained what he needed to do to pass it

The thing is she still human and she has human emotions so she's conflicted she probably didn't expect to be feeling this way towards him so she's constantly doubting herself apparently I've never read the novel but apparently in the novel she's a lot more I guess dedicated to her mission and isn't as wishy-washy as she is in the show and they kind of messed up in that way I guess when writing her character.

But the thing is I don't think we're going to necessarily agree cuz she has a mission and her mission has a time limit because she only has 300 days before the seal on the this is released she still has to kill him which is still in a betrayal itself and I think she has to do in order to make that happen surviving the dream getting the tear and having the thread grow she has to spike his heart all these things are going to be betrayals anyway it's the whole point of the of the mortal ark. Also these type of dramas are often rife with misunderstandings you cannot find any drama or Xanxia where the leads have open and clear communication lol

She always has to keep in mind that as long as he has the evil bone even if he dies all these good things that he's been doing will be wiped out the window and he'll just automatically become evil. She always just tries to think that oh it's not him yet but every time he does bad things whether the person deserves it or not he's one step closer to becoming the evil person she's trying to guard the world against. She has it looks like she has PTSD which after seeing her entire sect killed and her dad killed in front of why wouldn't she? When He talks about killing she's triggered and flashbacks it looks like and that's not something you have rational control over

If he doesn't pass this mortal trial then he won't live past this to become her brother in the immortal arc.

Never noticed the thicker makeup and it doesn't really bother me but I have comments to friends about how thin he looked, and it was concerning

Not necessarily whose daughter she was I don't think but he knew who she was because he acknowledged it and said others might not know but he will know

I’m really enjoying the show so far I got into it because I kind of gave me healer vibes and I love the show healer. I loved that they made a Goonie reference, because goonies never say die.

Same it’s initially what attracted me to the show 😂

So apparently it’s not really mentioned here but it’s in the novel that XL is supposed to become her future sect brother if he lives. Apparently, in order for him to be an immortal, he hast to survive a certain trial or trials, but she doesn’t know what these trials are she was just told us by her father. That’s why she’s trying so hard to help him and save him because she wants to make sure he survives. they haven’t really explained this in the drama yet.

I've read some comments that said especially in the novel not so much in the show that the guy at the very beginning first episode has some trials to go through to become his ultimate self which is called gong Yi or something. And so apparently she's trying to make sure he survives in order to complete these trials even though she doesn't know what they are. If he doesn't in order to become the person in the first episode then he'll cease to exist altogether that's why she keeps trying to save him. Xaoi Lin is her sect brother that we originally saw in the first episode so that's why she keeps trying to save him.

From my understanding the spell just caused him to be silent. Apparently in the novel it was actually supposed to be like an aphrodisiac type spell but they changed it for the drama. Also usually in these types of shows dates have the ability to nullify potions with their blood or whatever so although it looked like she drugged him he was able to nullify the effects pretty quickly and was fully on board with what they were doing lol
