I was really excited for Season 2 after watching the trailer. The fight scenes were still very good, and the chemistry between Woo Do-hwan and Lee Sang-yi remains one of the strongest parts of the show. However, the plot felt lighter than I expected, and many new characters appeared without much explanation. Still enjoyable for action lovers.
I had actually stopped watching a lot of Chinese historical dramas because of how female leads are sometimes written — weak, annoying, or just frustrating. But Pursuit of Jade really surprised me. From episode one, the female lead played by Tian Xiwei already showed strong, confident energy, which immediately hooked me. She’s capable and stands her ground, and the male lead played by Zhang Linghe matches her strength perfectly. Neither of them feels weak, and that balance makes their dynamic so interesting to watch. What I also liked is how the story shows that sometimes the choices we doubt can still turn out to be the right ones. Overall, it felt refreshing compared to many historical dramas.”

Exactly! That’s why I feel like Kelvin’s side of the story is really important. What his father did to his mother (and to him) was honestly just pure selfishness and greed for her money 💔
So it makes sense that Kelvin would grow up with a lot of trauma. If we finally get his point of view, I think it will explain a lot about why he acts the way he does now.
Everyone keeps saying Kelvin is obsessive, maybe even a psycho… and yeah, he does look intense 😳 But the wild part? We’ve never seen the story from his point of view. So how do we really know what he’s thinking? Makes me wonder if we’re just judging him based on what Veir sees 👀

And Cher… the tears, the confusion, the switching energy — messy. I was so annoyed I had to skip some scenes. I’ve never reacted like that to an episode before. But here’s the truth: The fact that it made me this angry means the writing worked. The characters are flawed. Morally gray. Frustratingly human. And the rest of the episode? Actually good. Just remember: Hate the character, not the actor. This drama will make you question everyone’s morals — and your own.
