Perrsonally I think he knows, there was a flashback sequence and he even showed up to her house. He's got to be suspicious and hiding it well or maybe he knows and isn't all that concerned.

Does he change ? with all the great shows coming out I've kind of gone back and Fourth with some. I've been debating whether to pick this one back up, Does it at least explain why he acted the way he did at the start ?
Gosh these kinds of endings make me cry so bad, imagine growing old together the surviving partner has to witness their life partner die and then live for however long without them. The pain would be to much I think.
