Again, this team will make a series where I will cry from beginning to end!!! UWMA and BU were two of my absolute favorite dramas. The stories were so well written and the actors where amazing. I do hope it will be the same here again.
What I like is that main roles will not only be by very young actors, but an older generation (Teng Kanist Piyapaphakornkoon is 36, Toey Puwanat Ruengves is 28). I always feel like there is a huge gap between some of the people watching and the actors. Teng was, after all, in the Gay Wave drama in 2016 in Thailand (gay dramas started to be more accessible, and mainstream), with Gay OK Bangkok 1 and 2.
I am also happy to see mix (already 23 years old) being one of the main characters, but I don't like how the made him look like. New Siwaj Sawatmaneekul often fail to choose good make-up artists and wardrobe designers. He's out of touch at only 33. Even if he's an amazing screenwriter and director, he shouldn't let this be his weakness. In Star and Sky, he over-cut things making some scenes awkward, but he has improved a lot since (my only 12% and A boss and a babe are also some of my favorite dramas).
I really hope this drama will be as fantastic as the book.
First, just by watching the trailer, I think it's more about him faking being disable because he wanna keep the guy close because he's jealous. So, don't make a big thing out of it. Secondly, IT IS a real Thai comedy, the kind that inspire Ru Paul's comedy sketch on Drag Race. It is big, ridiculously bad on purpose. Many countries has those kind of things (Saturday Night Live in the US for example). It is kind of like what we do this in the UK for Christmas with pantomime.
It is good for young actors who don't have experience to do those series. He give them confidence in front of camera, build their reputation and their mistakes can be turned into a joke. I am sure many people have seen Thai Comedy series (even movies), and it is not everybody's taste, but it is really popular in Thailand. Watch with open mind, or don't. But please, don't compare those comedies to regular BL drama. It's completely different.
Now, stop saying things like "it's rude to people with disability." Unless you have the disability yourself, don't pretend you know what it feels like (like a white person talking about racism). As a comedy, it is actually nice to be seen, even if it's a joke. Try doing it for a day, and see how easy it was for him to play a disable person for many weeks, even for "fun", it's not easy. I remember that, in the 80s, my grandfather played a "disable good witch" in the panto of Wizard of Oz. It was him, cross dress, in a wheelchair. It was very comical and wasn't to be taken seriously. Not because he played a disable person, but because he showed difficulties a person in wheelchair faced at that time (stairs, doors, etc...) It is only rude if you are mocking the situation they're in and not the situation they face.
In this show, because I think he's faking the whole thing (even if he's not), the character he play is ridiculous. They're not making fun of the disability, but at the character itself.
They are 3 people that melt my heart every single time I see them : Kim Young Dae, Cha Eun Woo and Lee Jun Ho. Some are close behind them, but those 3 are, to me, the hottest guys on Korean TV Drama in 2023.
After Red Sleeve, a well written show where he as superb, he should be looking for better roles, its degrading…
Why degrading romantic comedy? How many series exist like that in the US with big celebrities and have been running for years? Yet, Korean dramas are only about 16 episodes. Rarely more than 1 season. So, the actors can multiply their roles and what they do. Proving he's not a one trick poney. I actually like his acting, in whatever role is been given. Why? because he gives 100% every time. He also share the BTS on his YouTube chanel. Red Sleeve was, of course, beautiful. But it was also very demanding and hard for actors and production. Switching roles is also a way to keep the actors saine. Stop saying it's degrading. The webtoon is not perfect, but I didn't really like the manga of Uncanny Counter either, yet I love the series. I want to wait before judging. After all, it is not a show made with an IPhone, but there is a big production crew and senarist who are doing there job.
Not confirmed. China has the rights on the book. Thailand is under négociation. Addicted Heroin Thailand could…
You are right. But that is the reason they also push the advertising for the show despite China. They try to gain a maximum support. Not many shows do a live open casting and publicly announce it on twitter, even shared video. Some of the actors are newbies. Doing something this big may push the interest of the public and fans, so the show would be selected and authorized. But I am not all knowing. I don't work for Hollywood Thailand so they may have made a deal already with them behind close door. However, twitter and casting directors said it is signed but yet to be confirmed and announced. That is why MDL didn't say anything. They'll know before us. I'm sorry if I made you upset or frustrated. It is not my intention. I just wanted you no to get your hopes up just in case. I also would be over the moon if they do it. Hopefully, closer to the original story. (They may even show why the lube was on the bed) lol...

Chai Ji Dan used registered her novels into the National Copyright Administration (under the Chinese government) "Copyrights in China are divided into personal rights and property rights wherein personal rights may also be regarded as moral rights, including the rights of publication, authorship, alteration and integrity which cannot be waived or assigned." The owner is still the writer, but the copyrights is managed by the government, owning the rights. For what I learned today, there is a strong possibility that Thailand may gain the rights to the drama, even if China accept to do a second season because it can bring more revenues to the government with the number of viewers for the first season in China and the world. Something that can push China to accept.
And yet, reporting you made them put your comment into spoiler alert!!! In many dramas I see comments that spoil the whole show. But some people just wanna know if it's good before watching and read comments. One time I wanted to watch a drama from early 2022 last July. All comments spoiled the whole series. I binged the whole thing because I wasn't even surprised anymore. Even if I didn't read the whole recap, I already knew a few important thing. Many people don't like spoilers. Just say "it was amazing but a very sad ending" and then you make another comment under "spoiler" where you can tell everything about it. It's not about YOU, it's about respecting others. If you love K-dramas, you may have learned that they are very respectful. Maybe take lesson from it.
You are absolutely correct. If you go back and look at what happened to the main leads in Addicted they were interrupted…
Actually it was because fans made fanfiction about the actors (not their roles, but the actors themselves). Because they represented China, and that being Gay is against their politic, they cancelled the show and separated the actors. So what fans do matters in China. That is why I fight against people doing the same thing again. Of course, if Thailand can come to an agreement with China to release the rights to the books, it can be fantastic. Especially that it will be for at least 3 seasons for 5 books. That's why they had caste young actors in July. But we need to wait for China's approval for the production after the pilot is done. Of course, they may be more relax concerning the BL aspect because it's not in China, but we never know...

They've done the casting call 3 weeks ago. Hollywood Thailand need to do a pilot episode first to be accepted for production. Everyone is expecting a big thing from this big studio. BUT, it is NOT YET CONFIRMED as I said. I have been around so many drama and movies that people expect but never got anything after the pilot. For your information, Pilot episode are not aired because it's very low budget. It is just to see the actors chemistry and the setup of the director to make it good without costing much. Plus the expectations of the writer AND the negotiation with China (it's a communist country, so the rights don't belong to the writer, but to the country).
