I don't know if you've heard my screaming from wherever you are but I unconsciously jumped from my place and screamed my lungs out after reading your comment . kinda made me worried of what could happen if HYX airs.
See as a chinese dramaland fan , if you don't get what you want ,at least don't suffer alone. that's why i got some of the friends and people i know to read the novels ( especially SPL ) and now they be boiling of impatience to watch the dramas lol . But they'd probably manage it and become pros of waiting like us. Long way to go , welcome to our world .

I don't want to complain about the nearly 4hours that's edited out nor the name change , JUUUUUUUUST RELEASE IT. I feel mummified from waiting to these dramas and i don't know if that even makes sense
After reading the novels , i'm actually more excited for SPL than HYX in terms of story and characters but i just want to see Chen fei yu and Leo luo in one work on one screen , after the bts and the chinese award shows they seem to share a beautiful friendship . It's so painful to wait for so long , yet both the dramas are still having big problems with the airing schedule . I just hope they will still be released this year .
I'm starting to feel the danger of what could happen to me if they release a trailer or pop up with the 1st ep . Oh lord i need to get an ambulance prepared just in case my heart stops ,or my soul leave my body of shock . They better come slow to us and not surprise us . Easy easy .....we became so fragile because of waiting lol.
I know some historical bl novels that are similar with Sha Po Lang, and similar in quality, but not all of them…
I do agree with you , on how reading some really outsdanding novels will level-up your taste and make your more picky.It happend to me with other english novels since i prefer to read on watching the series if they exist .
When when it comes to chinese dramaland , i'm used to watch without really paying attention that most of the dramas are adapted from novels, plus the language barrier didn't really encourage me to search or try reading a chinese novel .
So SPL is indeed the first c-novel i read(while waiting for it to air) , i was sooooo amused by the story and how well are the actions are linked .Not to mention the characters and the description of the places and the costumes that made it so easy to imagine them , especially since i'm used to the chinese
Yet to me , being in BL category isn't really an obligatory condition to read a novel (if SPL isn't the first BL one) and since i liked it how i would watch the drama knowing the original story would be so intersting ,it happened that the other drama(IMMORTALITY) that i excitedly anticipat, is also adapted froma bl novel. However ,after finishing SPL , HYX didn't quite stand out for me , wich brings us back to the main point and it can be as you mentioned due to the author's style of writing and your personal preferences wich is understandable . The chinese novels world is quite big , and i'm still on first steps , i would definitely check more works of other authors like those whom you recited.

I'm up to chap 41 in 'Lord Seventh' .The caracters are so cute andnice to eatchother even if i find that not so many things happen all along the chapters yet it's still fun to read .
You can try Meng Xi Shi. I've read her novels Thousand Autumns (it is not fully translated yet but it has a donghua)…
i did watch the 16 episodes of thousand autumns (animated) . it was good enough , so i'll read Peerless thank you . I started one called 'lord seventh' a bit slow in actions and not much happening through many chapters . i'm still new to this novels world so i'm not familiar with the authors names yet except for priest lol. Can you advice me with some novels like sha po lang . I just finished reading it and i can't get over how good everything about it was . Gu yun's personnality is an obsession lol i can't wait to see it on screen . I wanted to find other novels , i started HYX but honestly i dind't like it as much as SPL i prefer waiting for immortality to air. anyway can you please tell me about other novels to read ? i don't really know where to start searching.

it is just indescribable when i'm now reading the novel and getting to see some of the scenes in reality from the leaked videos and photos from the behind the scenes of the shooting. I can't wait to finish it and watch the drama right away . Yet i need to slowdown my reading process to end it as close as possible to the airing date . Although immortality should be out by then if not delayed again . Still, none of the airing dates are actually official.
