for those who are confused I gathered information from comments and ChatGPT here's what's going on fl wrote novel about herself, which was really dark, so she was rejected from publishing it. after rejection she left the building and got hit by a car, ml was at the site too. when he picked up papers (fl's novel) he corrected it and added jiang ling's character to make it less dark and published it under pseudonym. they later meet in real life.
