This was such a beautiful drama. The scenery from El Malecon, Cuba to the scenery in Korea, they were beautiful. The drama is not as intense as others but it does something to your heart.
Let me see if I can clarify. I watched it on day 1 (I actually started watching at night) and probably slept like 3 hours the first night and then 5 hours the 2nd night I finished the series on the third day.
Thanks to this series, I have only had 8 hours of sleep these past 2 days. It was really really good. The triangle between the 2 ML and the FL was so good. The last few episodes were extremely sad . The last episode killed me. I felt sorry for the King Ta Hwan.
This has got to be one of the funniest series ever! Rebecca is now part of my memorable names list - together with Samantha and Rachel. :D Each episode had me in stitches. A fun series. Thank you.
Definitely, the 88's the best one in the Reply series for me. Such a good storytelling of a simple almost ordinary,…
I agree with you that this has got to be the best (in my opinion as well) Reply series. It has a lot of heartwarming scenes. The ending of the last episode where we see the families leaving the street where they grew up in, forged friendship and found love was quite touching. It made me felt nostaglic. It reminded me of my childhood. But people from that street have also moved on.
Almost 20 years after this was aired, I get the chance to see this series. It consistently appeared in lists of the saddest dramas ever. I got curious. In the last episode, the line, "I'm sorry I can't go with you right now... Don't forget me..." and then she passed... got to me so hard, I lost it. I couldn't contain it.
Just got into this series after trying to watch it twice. Now I am kicking myself for dropping it. IMO, this series…
Finished the series earlier. Binged on it until 4 in the morning. Well, it was quite a series. Beautiful!!! Heart-wrenching... I guess any story involving war has that tragedy written all over it. There were a lot of scenes that I couldn't hold it together that just really made me so sad I had to cry... everything just went well together: the scenery, the musical score, the acting... the last 2 episodes were trully tragic. Hina carried by Dong Mae walking along the beach. Dong Mae meeting Ae Sin for Ae Sin's last payment. Dong Mae's last sword fight and his lifeless body dragged by a horse... and of course the train scene between Ae Sin and Yoo Jin - here I totally lost it. Though the series is tragic, it was beautifully made hats off. This will be among the best series that I have seen bar none.
Just got into this series after trying to watch it twice. Now I am kicking myself for dropping it. IMO, this series is hands down one of the most beautiful cinematography i have seen, breathtaking. And the scenes, truly moving! I especially liked the scene where Yoo Jin and Ae Sin were at the frozen river and Yoo Jin revealed his origins. I am now at ep 10 and am enjoying this...
This series ended a couple of years ago but I only saw it now as it appeared in a couple of lists of the most heartbreaking kdrama series. It ultimately made me curious so I went it and braced myself for the heartbreak. KWB and Suzy were great!!! Especially the 2nd half of the series. All in all, I loved the series! I greatly appreciated the ending. It didn't really feel as sad. Actually, I found it cathartic.

Ok. so a few hours after I finished watching the series (and after a few rants early this morning). And having had the chance to calm down (i am not really calm - but life goes on). The series itself was worth the time watching it. It was beautiful and sweet. Like a lot of people, I also do not like the ending, I really felt sorry for Tofu. He could have been a little more human by being a little more selfish. But I guess that's me - selfish, bitter, self-absorbed...
