As far as I can see the novel and drama plotline are different for DaSiMing. If I'm not wrong, he'll be killed by The Sage (XingZun Emperor) on the novel, but we already seen XingZun Emperor died before he meet DaSiMing. So Maybe he'll get different end in the drama.

I read the book and my first impression : this drama is executed better than the book with some adaptation of course. IMHO.

It's because a prophecy. DaSiMing and ShiYing learn to read the astrology and translate it into world phenomenon. So they believe this prophecy.

Bai Xue Lu is a drama-made character. The novel has the similar character with different name and she is a minor role and didnt tell much in the novel. But the drama make this character as the SFL. She is Bai King daughter from his consort, his legitimate daughter is Xue Ying (her mom passed away). This Xue Lu is really ambitious and want to be the next Kongsang Empress.

No, actually he only want ShiYing to revenge his Mom's pain and death to King Qing and his father. And protecting ShiYing from the prophecy so he become very protective to ShiYing. Unless the drama adapt it to differenf plot.
