Yessss! It's amazing being able to also think about the cases right? Instead of just watching the drama🤩🤩🤩 When they mentioned about the oldest daughter of concubine Yang I also guessed that Caihe was the one, and that she started her revenge too. Qin Chen was obvious from the start, he wanted to meddle with the investigation ever since the case was reported. I didn't know they were a couple though, I missed that. But I thought that he discovered his father's secret and hated his father for that (for a while I also thought he was the same way as his father🤨🤣)
I gathered all my courage to start, cause of LJS. I usually drop MKY's drama, but I had to start cause of LJS😭 I'll get through this drama, even if I have to skip scenes 🤡😭🙌 God bless me (us)
I saw that some people are not liking that some cases are 5 eps long. Well, I'm LO-VING it! I try to solve the cases with them, connecting the dots. Isn't that wonderful!? If a case is 2 or 3 eps long it won't let you interact with the drama. If it's bigger than 5-6 eps, it'll be draggy. Let's enjoy it!!

If I could, I'd give it 8.1 or 8.2. It's good, but since the flow could've been better... some parts were unnecessary too. I don't think the 'romance' (non-existent mostly) should've happened since they had no chemistry. 6-8 eps were the best, later it started to drag at some parts. This drama could've easily been 10 or 12 eps.

Well, they didn't have any evidence, so it's kinda understandable. But still😂 It was good, though the filming was a bit messy, some things were kinda confusing.
The beginning was 🔥, already loved it. Is it low budget? The blood was so clear and watery, the lighting isn't the best, the clothes and jewelry are simple. But cinematography is great, seems like they did their best with what they had.
I've seen the 13 released eps and this is my opinion based on what we have: LMF's excessive defense ruling was done right. Unfortunately, for him. ZL only had a wood stick, it wasn't enough to kill or badly injury someone, it's density wasn't enough. Since LMF was a nerd, and quite weak, he couldn't break free, but his situation wasn't as bad as we truly think (I'm not taking ZL's side, I'm addressing the situation as it happened). If he found the knife, in the situation he was in, he could've just swung it. It would hurt ZL, but not enough to kill (unless it cut his throat). But a swing is enough to determine justifiable defense in the case ZL got his throat cut. He, LMF, was on the floor, he could've aimed at ZL's legs. Again, in LMF's situation, the situation wasn't as bad as it seemed in the beginning. The way ZL was hitting him gave LMF room to act, he was just too much book-nerdy and didn't know how to defend himself. Excessive defense was a lenient punishment, what happened later was society's problem. And I agree with DHS, what if justifiable defense was applied in his case and everyone decided to kill others in cases like this one? MZ gave the perfect example of such a thing. She teach JT that killing ZY was justifiable defense if she was attacked first. What if everyone went around doing that in every situation? Moving on DHS decided to help him, he knew LMF was only defending himself after all, again, based on the info we have right now (13 ep). But that doesn't justify him making ZL's father go after MZ and DHS, and making ZY go after JT. In fact, he's just proving how right his sentence was.
Another thing. It's my first time seeing such a lack of chemistry. BJT usually has chemistry with most actresses. But I find him having more chemistry with FLY than with MZ. With MZ there's nothing. No charm, sparkle. They don't even match as friends. Chemistry is something that you can see even IRL, it's quite noticeable. I've been in this industry (dramas, lol) for years, and it's the 2nd time? that I find a couple with NO chemistry.
I feel so sorry for my boy LMF. Being an ex-convict is so hard. In his case (I'm at 5th ep), it was justifiable defense, it was do or die. But he was outed by society, even his mother distanced herself from him. I saw some wrist cuts, I felt so sorry. Did those people expect him to let the girl grt assaulted? Or get killed while helping her? If he got killed, Mei Zheng would've been killed too so Zhou Lin wouldn't have any witnesses.
