Story is good and somehow original in showing servants' lives, although they didn't make good use of this and gradually it became a typical royal struggle drama. Also, it''s too long and draggy toward the end, they should've finished it at 16. I don't like MM and IY together as well, not romantic dynamic as well, they were better off platonic. All these said, it makes an enjoyable one-time watch.

I don't want to hurt anyones' feelings so soon after ending but I must say that I didn't like the 2nd half of drama much. I'm not a fan of romance and until before dream sequence, I was enjoying drama imensely without it, especially after return to Jing, then came dream and he fell in love and drama started to become mushy and wishy, washy. The worst of it was when YXW died and after that I struggled to watch anymore. Luckily I'd started it one day before ep. 37 so it was practically ended or else I don't know if I would continue. I know the essence of these kind of dramas is falling in love but I wanted TTJ remain cold and evil to the end. He was far more attractive as a villain than a lover, imo.

Typical of people, they would find a loophole for every rule. 😅 Actually it may not be a bad thing in long run, period cdramas, especially wuxia and xianxias, are way too long and filled with irrelevant characters and subplots to the rim. I never find patience to watch them, TTEOTM is one of the handfuls I watched.

I haven't watched this week episodes yet but I've got a feeling we're going to spend remaining episodes to see every single characters, present and past, went in and back from that hotel room that night.

Dear God, really? I read in comment about robots being pro-active in Douban to pull down rating but I had no idea it has been this crazy. I thought the reluctance for waiting is about losing viewers and publicity. People really do need to chill, it's just some drama after all. If we can't tolerate ficitional matters, how are we going to live with actual people 🤦🏻‍♀️😬

I started it on this Saturday myself and bingewatched, know what you say about waiting. Agree about comment section though, I love lively sections but sometimes they grow too intense as if there's a war going on.

I thought that was reason.🤔I heard it was no sooner than 3 months after the 1st part, but I thought maybe for several hours longer people could manage to wait (only barely). BTW, have you watched 2-part dramas before? How much time was normal between seasons?

I'm just curious, couldn't they split drama into two 28-episode parts and not condense it? I heard each part can't be less than 20. Although they'd probably cut out from earlier eps as well but this way 3rd arc could be in a single part.

They did a great job at doing a special to show main antagonist's past and forgo unnecessary flash backs in the main series later season but ruined it by shelving this drama without any official news. Honestly there's no need for more specials about all main characters....
