Being that she has not been formally educated, even her family did not expect her to be smart. She has so many talents, for ex: she made an exquisite home made rice wine that even the emperor was in awe. She helps LB and or Crown Prince solve crimes by using her critical thinking. Later on , she made an oil bomb that was use to fight enemies which was more efficient than fighting with firearms/swords. She also spearheaded or participated in those battles. Upon her engagement with LB, the emperor had her educated personally by the Queen in the palace. She became a close confidant and companion of the Queen. LB was also raised by the emperor and the Queen , who loved him more than their own. And there are awesome battle scenes where General LB commanded.

CSS was left behind by her family since age 3 to fight a war and re-united after 10 yrs. She was lacking love and is insecure. She had few encounters with LB and instances where he saves her. He already has feelings for her. While LB was busy fighting the war and the bandits, she decided to get engaged to guy #1. Unfortunate events, forced them to break up the engagement. The same day, LB trapped her for her #2 engagement.

“Good eye candy or slap stick entertainment is fun but “stories” that also inspires and moves you emotionally and mentally leave a lasting impressions “~ we have exact sentiments!
I read the novel although translations are subpar. Let me add to your narration and share with @Mariah, although I’m not so good with articulation but will try.

My opinions: inspite of it’s imperfections, it’s a feel good drama with less angst. I love the performance of Yang and Lusi as BFX/ FX Y and HFX/FLX. Their chemistry is on 🔥 portraying sweet, pure and unconditional love. While I was disappointed with lack of action/martial arts, the love story more than compensated for it. I am simple and doesn’t take a lot for me to enjoy something lol.

I will miss everyone on this page, you guys are so witty and exciting bunch. Love your analysis of the plots etc. I think some of you are that good that you can become scriptwriters !
My takeaway from lurking in this comment section ? Taught me to be tolerant of criticisms, be it good or bad~will be applicable in any situations in general . Bye for now, hope to see around.
