Yeah I understand how you feel. I am quite happy they kept these things, since it remains closer to the novel, but I also see how it can feel odd to people who haven't read it at all(or if it's been a while). I also don't really think they should have skipped it, because it takes up maybe a third of the novel and if they did skip they probably would have written more drama for the later part. I think that this particular arc ends tomorrow or the day after though based on where we are in the plot.

In the novel all these with Zhao Lusi scenes are by the younger Sang Zhi, not the high schooler Sang Zhi if I remember correctly. So she will feel more childish for her age here, since they wanted Zhao Lusi to do most of the acting for Sang Zhi.
I think she changed her pitch to sound younger, don't know if she did it on her own or if they used a machine. I imagine she will sound more like herself when she is in the college stage.

Hello! I see your point but want to provide some context. In the novel(others who have read it can correct me if I'm wrong) all these scenes acted by Zhao Lusi actually happen to the younger Sang Zhi so it makes sense you feel that she is childish. But since this arc is a big part of the novel I imagine the writers wanted to keep it in but have it acted by Zhao Lusi so they simply changed her age, which makes her indeed seem more childish then someone at the age of 17 would be. They changed the age a bit compared to the novel. Some were saying that Duan Jiaxu just started at the university when Sang Zhi is 14, so he should be a little younger.
On a positive note Sang Zhi and Duan Jiaxu is very cute 🥰
