This drama is basically a comedy with a tint of dark humor
When I first saw this drama I was hesitant to watch it but after awhile I decided it to give it a try. For me the drama started slow and then after a few episodes it started picking up the pace. I found it quite funny and interestingOne of the things things I mostly enjoyed was seeing how the ML grew as a person. We started with him being a push over but after he found the diary and started believing he was a psychopath be started standing up for himself more. Not only that this helped him break out of his shell after he finally realized he wasn't the killer.
At some point I sympathized with the villain since in my opinion his ways had a lot of influence from his childhood and the way he was taught by his father.
Although this wasn't a romance drama we got a slight romance vibe between the leads which i liked.
Overall I would recommend watching this drama, although its somewhat predictable you will enjoy the time you spend watching it.

An alright drama
Ok, so this drama wasn't as bad. The leads had an okay chemistry and unlike some people, I do believe screentime was distributed nicely. Something I liked about this drama was that there was only really one bad guy and we knew from the start. The families also developed a nice bond despite everything and Im glad Pin changed for the better.
Was I the only one that kinda shipped Kerd and Pin?
Anyways, when it came to the romance we did get a few sweet moments. Although Natty was a pain in the a$$ for the majority of the show she did come around, well they all did.
Something I didn't like was that they made Thanu fall for Lookkaew at first but always glad it didn't develop further.
If you have nothing better to watch I would definitely recommend watching it. It's not full of fluff but its lighthearted enough to take a break from stronger plots.

Mature Romance
This drama tells the story of an unexpected romance between Shen Xifan, a dedicated hotel manager played by Xu Ruohan, and He Suye, a compassionate TCM doctor portrayed by Zhang Linghe. What starts as a simple doctor-patient interaction gradually transforms into a heartfelt connection as neighbors, with both characters helping each other heal from past emotional wounds. The beginning of their relationship is beautifully portrayed, setting the stage for a love story that feels natural and deeply meaningful. One of the best things about The Best Thing is its refreshingly mature take on romance. Unlike many dramas where characters in their late twenties or early thirties act like nervous teenagers experiencing their first crush, this series presents two adults who know how to communicate and handle their feelings with confidence.
Shen Xifan and He Suye don’t waste time on unnecessary misunderstandings or awkward shyness. Their interactions feel real—built on mutual respect, open conversations, and a refreshing lack of overplayed dramatics. When they’re drawn to each other, they acknowledge it. When conflicts arise, they talk things through instead of avoiding each other or letting minor issues spiral out of control. It’s rare to see a drama where love is approached with such emotional intelligence, rather than forced innocence.
Another major strength of the series is how well it blends romance with real-life struggles. Both characters have been shaped by their past experiences, but instead of letting those experiences create unnecessary obstacles, they use them to grow both individually and as a couple. Their love story doesn’t rely on grand gestures or cliché romantic tropes—instead, it’s built on shared moments, deep conversations, and genuine emotional support.
For viewers tired of romance dramas where grown adults act like shy schoolkids, The Best Thing is a breath of fresh air. It proves that mature love can be just as exciting, heart-fluttering, and deeply moving—without all the unnecessary dramatics.
