It's whitewashed imo, they mostly focused on the backward traditions of Tibetan aristocrats having slaves and how the CCP came and saved the slave girls and educated the other Tibetan younger generations, including terminating such practices. Which is great and all, but the dialogue is a bit worshipy and saviour complex.

Thank you for your reply. I had to drop the drama for my own sanity. I skipped to see if there were any suitors worth it, and I honestly have to say NO!. None of them deserved her. I would have been much happier if she had been solo because what couldn't my girl do alone eh? Honestly, I am glad I wasn't the only one who didn't buy into the "tragic" bs this drama was trying to sell.

And am I the onlt one that wants to Slap the shit out of this Xian Liu character? How is the FL so okay with his abusive ass??

For me I feel like this version of her has always been her true self. Even in flash back when she fought with her dad she was vocal and courageous. She had always fought for herself. It was the dating and marriage era where she changed and became mute to be in the relationship. She sacrificed her true self to be with the man she loved and ML sort of conditioned her to be that way aswell. But now she is free we can finally be herself and perhaps a little mature too :) Also this trip, she is getting paid for and knowing her personality she won’t say no to helping him imo.

I am on the same boat with you. I discovered CDrama Jan this year and was pleasantly surprised at the quality of story, production, direction and of course the actors. But now I just feel so sad and guilty to come close to enjoying any drama or movie without being reminded of the horrors that people go through behind the scenes.

What a joy it was to watch this drama. It was light and easy to watch, with great chemistry and relationships. It had swoon-worthy romance, sisterly bond and adventure with friends. The heavenly realms were breathtaking, and I appreciated the use of purple and blue in both the heavenly realm and the void realm, which effectively tied the visuals of the story together. This drama made me laugh, swoon, and cry. It was such a fun watch that I ended up binge-watching this in 2 days, and I was not ready to say goodbye to this drama with that ending. I needed more episodes of their adventure. T^T Also, the OST was only 5 songs, but all are so freaking good.
