First of all, thank you for another brilliant article! I'm not even able to express how much I love your narration. Soju never disappoins us.
Based on Yours excitement level, I fill alike. I was the most hyped for Tale (especially my interest has grown when it has been postponed) but Bad Buddy has became my most anticipated BL for 2021 since I saw Nanon- Ohm chemistry in trailer. Also watching GMMTV trailers one-by-one I noticed a few similar series with Joss, so all of them seem uninteresting and plain imo. Mama Go Go kinda amused me, I'll give it a try for a PLOT obviously. Never Too Late also drew my attention.
btw I wonder how Between Us goes, cuz WinTeam parts were the only absorbing ones in UWMA
So out of 51 epsiode seeing only 2 episodes even without understanding rating and reviewing this drama this high…
but it's always like that with every show, never base on rating before the series ends (it might have an awful ending or drop in quality during the process, so lots of members change their rating later)
tbh i'm so bored and kind of annoyed by GMMTV constant BL series- and lots among its are average to the bone w/ not-that-bad cinematography; yet this is going to be my the most anticipated BL from them for 2021 (right when I thought I'll not wait for anything other than The Tale)
but wait, why Norman actor is 18 while Ray actor is 14 (not to mention 20yo Emma lol)- and it really shows, Ray looks like a child compared to his siblings while they were supposed to be the same age
Why be bother to vote XZ gonna win as usual ....Funny
Of course this ranking has barely in common with acting skills. It's rather popularity contest- everyone sees that. Yet I still think XZ deserves the highest places (and if not the 1st, at least the top 3-5). I can separate my love as a fan from one's talent- and his talent is truly something. But I guess more accurate would be place him that high in 2019 ranking (for his brilliant WWX role)- anyway this year he indeed portrayed some great creations, but nothing "big" compared to other men's roles.
but I don't think Wang Yibo deserves 3rd place at all, even if I love him tho
I'll put it in that way: why so? I guess we're talking abt Lan WangJi role in "The Untamed" (since special edition ended in 2020), or maybe sb's gonna mention "My Strange Friend" (but I don't think so). And my question is: what was so special about this role? First episodes were very average by him and that's the fact- Yibo personally said in interview that he didn't fully understand the character back then. Later, he really developed his skills- I admit it and absolutely adore, love and everything in that form of his WangJi (and the unbeatable chemistry he created with XZ on screen) but even tho- was it that hard, or in other words- demanding role? For example- saying that he played better than Zhu Zan Jin (as Jin Guang Yao) or Ji Li (as Nie Huai Sang)- I find it disrespectful to the work done by the other two (but that's my opinion of course). I don't claim Lan Zhan was a piece of cake to play, yet it's also not the role which can show full potential and skills of a performer (and despite that Yibo had a rough beginning). Another reason (and for me the most important) is very common phrase "others deserved more"- I didn't see that much of 2020 dramas, but out of these I saw I still find some outstanding performances. I'm sorry but Oh Jung Se (currently at 68th) place is a joke, and not a funny one. He nailed the role of autistic man in IONTBO proving he's one of the best Korean actors now. I doubt if all of 67 people above him can play like that. Yibo is very young and still has a long way to go if he wants to be a memorable actor. He's undeniably the Chinese king of dance, very talented in lots of fields- of course- a good actor too, but not yet as good as others below him. I wish him the best- maybe in 2021 after "The Legend of Fei" he will deserve one of the highest place in rank (we never know).
I'm sorry but Xiao Zhan World domination right here (and I hope 2021 as well after Duoluo Continent airs) anyway the two other places are for Oh Jung Se & Lee Joon Gi, they bought my heart in IONTBO and Flower of Evil.
Can anyone reply me about how the relationship between xiao zhan and wang yibo in recent...?
First of all- it's not a place for such questions. We're discussing here about drama which has nothing to do with Yibo and Zhan relationship. Please, mind it next time.
But since you asked, I'll reply as an exception: I try to keep up with Zhan and Yibo careers after CQL (especially XZ's), and after all that hustle and bustle calmed, they parted their ways I guess (at least officially). What I mean- 01-02.11.19 Nanjing concert was the last event of promoting the drama. The actors said final goodbye to their roles. After that XZ & WY got some nominations and won everything they could.- for example they showed together at Weibo Night 11.01.2020- but it was clearly seen that XZ avoided WY, even tho they stand close to eachother on one stage, they didn't interact. I think (or hope) that they just simply couldn't- from a certain point the eyes of everyone has observed them carefully- not only fans, but also antis, goverment and so... And we didn't get to hear anything from their side. Don't forget that 2019/2020 was the time when covid has started- so the public life in China decreased for a good while. Anyway- even if Zhan and Yibo did not showed any signs of cooperation- the rumors and actions of antis still affected XZ- he was the one who had to carry out a burden abt AO3 and one fanfiction abt YiZhan relationship (spring 2020). [I swear, I hate everyone responsible for that sh*t, and those bastards who made him suffer for innocence]. Meanwhile Yibo was classified in this year top ten of 100 People of Forbes China... So as you can see- being a celebrity in China industry isn't easy. [btw actors who starred in non-censoed BL was banned permanently from showing together in public]. We as fans can only wonder how their relationship looks like now- but the best we can do is to not dig up forcefully in this and not make fake guesses just to satisfy curiosity. Both actors work really hard, lead their careers to the best and we shouldn't ruin it. Personally, I dream about being able to watch them in another project together- I guess everyone know that this duo is so powerful- but China and they alone have good reasons to work separately, so in the near future I don't suppose to my dream come true. I also hope they are happy after all and remain close friends (oops- I've never shipped them in different way).
