I think Akihabara@DEEP is one of his more underrated dramas. He portrayed the character so wonderfully crazy.…
hi tampopo100! To be honest, I've never seen Akihabara@deep T.T but I have heard a lot about Box and his glove obsession (lol everytime I think of that I lol even if I have no idea what the drama is about) so I thought it deserved at least a mention.
About the JE outfits though XD LOL I know what you mean. Everytime I see him dressed up at the new years concerts I'm like...Toma you look so odd! Take off the glitter right now! I'm glad he didn't end up taking the idol route, because while I'm sure he would have done fine it, the time he devoted to acting was well spent! (Kyah if I saw him in Hollywood I would die of happiness)
Dude these Japanese PDs need to bring back these amazing actor pairs...I think the budgets for J-Dramas is too low now >< I want a Matsujun-Shun-Toma-Pi drama (with a Ryo/Nino/Sho cameo XD)
LOLL. Okay I can't hold that against you. That bra scene is pretty much the most epic thing of all time. I can never forget it either but I do promise you that he's a good serious actor too :)
I've never seen Mawang! But I do like Uhm Tae Woong :D from Architecture 101 and since you called it the best revenge k-drama everr I think it's time it goes on the plan to watch list XD I've been avoiding it just like Maou T.T
He's from JE? Didn't know that. He definitely came across to me as an actor more than an idol (and yes, it's a…
Reika XD yes! He is! For you! (I hope the link works ><) http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_dqmjh8WRI0
This video is actually super recent according to the upload date on YT and what his face looks like, so it reflects his current singing ability :) but I agree he's definitely more of an actor now. I can never decide if I'm sad he's not a singer too...I mean if I could hear Toma singing into my ear on the bus on the way to work I wouldn't complain XD. But I definitely agree that he's way more of an actor than he is a singer :).

I just wanted to say <3 that your name and profile picture are flawless :)
Nice article. I'm an Ikuta Toma fan. There will never be a better Nakatsu. He was awesome in Hana Kimi, HYD, Bokura…
Honestly I feel bad for the actors who have tried Nakatsu since. T.T They do well! I even like the actors individually but Toma's just- he's Nakatsu. There's nothing they can do to make me change my mind :(
And about Maou I know what you mean I guess. It's kind of like his facial expressions became too much? (Though I agree with shaz22 XD I'll blame it on the director too since I haven't seen the drama :D)
Unubore I think his character was a little ditzy, so maybe that's why? If you don't like ditzy characters?
Ikuta Toma was my first Ichiban in the Jdrama world. I didn't know his name back then so i heaps of pictures in…
The first one is always special I totally agree, I still have dreamy eyes for Jun man. Also your photo folder story is adorable! How did you find out about Hana Kimi? From a friend?
This guy consistently makes me proud to be his fan. I feel like I can say that with so much pride because he works so hard at becoming better and trying new things :) I can't wait to watch Brain Man! (Gory and bloody as it may be T.T)
I've seen them almost all! haha I love Ikuta Toma is one of my favorite actors XD
*high five* I try to normally do that for actors I like too because I like to chart their progress! Toma really has improved a lot since he started right?
I always feel like Toma needs more fans :( but maybe that's because I'm his biased fan I think that way neh?
Thank you for commenting! I wandered onto your profile and saw you loved Bandage! And you love Pi! :D two of my most favourite things in the world :) I almost feel guilty T.T I realized now I didn't mention Tomapi once! (They should really act together already man T.T Japanese directors need to bring that friendship chemistry on screen)
This was a great article! :) It was a fun read. I had a sudden flashback of Nakatsu's monologues paired with action…
thank you dapinaymrs! I'm glad! I was really worried about it being a bit too long. (And if my article reminded you of Nakatsu even better because who doesn't like being reminded of Nakatsu XD?)
Ningen Shikkaku T.T honestly yeah if you're not comfortable with darker arty films don't watch it it's not a 'fun' watch in any sense of the word and you really need to be in a serious frame of mind to a)get through it and b) appreciate the madness that is humanity. Junpei was bearable because he had a purpose but Oba Yozo lives without purpose :( that's one of the other sad things about this movie. His life is kind of a waste.
But yes! Check out Bokura Ga Ita :D! That one is def. worth your time!
I haven't seen most of these (but I agree his performance in HYD2 was very good, but that's one reason why I enjoy…
hi lily_b! Yeah no a lot of his dramas have been underrated and flown under the radar I think. Also he's started to focus a lot more on movies nowadays. I don't know if that's just because of his own personal preference or work-related but movies generally don't get a lot of hype on the internet either :( (Junpei was a very twisted character huh?)
thank you for commenting! and I hope you start a Toma drama soon and love it ^.^
I'm soo thankful! I'm currently watching Hana Kimi, and I've just told to my friend, that I'm starting to fell…
Firstly -> your picture is flawless. Seriously. Nobuta Power Shyuu Nyu! Did you sketch that?
And yes! The Hana Kimi bug is the most powerful I think. Once you've caught Ikuta-Toma-fanitis it's like impossible to get rid of but don't worry. There's a strong support group available on tumblr. I'm just kidding around of course but I'm really happy you're starting to love him and I hope you get to love him even more with his other roles! (He really is very diverse in his range).
I love this kid (yes I'm old enough to call him a kid). I'm slowly trying to see more of his work. Thanks for…
That's okay! Love knows no age limits! Thank you for reading this Stalker's Guide and loving this kid XD I'm looking forward to seeing Nou Otoko too :O apparently he doesn't blink even once.
Happy Birthday, my birthday mate! Toma till these days remains my biggest Japanese crush. Oh how I love him. It's…
I totally get you *nods*! And thank you for your kind words! LOL I think the fangirl is too strong in me. She was happy to finally get an outlet to let out all her spaz.
Dude! I was debating including Genji in this so hard because I watched it just for this review! I agree it's actually visually perfect. The Heian period costumes and sets were stunning (and Toma was stunning in them XD)! But I ended up not including it because I thought it wouldn't be an easy watch. I'm going to read the book and try and see if that makes me enjoy the movie more because sometimes I got lost between the two worlds >< The Genji world and the author world.
Thank you for commenting :D I love meeting (typing to ?) other Toma fans :D!
Had no idea there was a movie for ningen shikkaku, and toma acts on it, all the more reason to watch it. I first…
Manga is definitely a lot less time consuming! LOL tumblr. Honestly the whole reason I got into Free! was the tumblr gifs. Give me a good het or yaoi romance with loads of angst and I'm there man. What mangas are you reading now :)?
also yeah T.T they don't make philosophical stuff that often because T.T it doesn't sell in the market *sigh* but I agree with you! I'm planning on watching something called The Crucible which somewhat philosophical I've heard. It has Gong Yoo in it :).
I don't have a bias in Shinhwa either because they're all pretty fine! but I do love Eric as an actor! Whose your bias? (also I should probably take this over to your profile eventually so the next reply will be there ^.^)
LILLITH LILLITH LILLITH! You know I love Toma but your article made me love him even more. XD Yes, you're right,…
Shan hayyy girl :D! thank you *high five*
Ahh the reason I didn't mention his stage dramas was because MDL doesn't really have his stage drama info + newer fans would be able to access his other media more easily but I definitely agree with you! His stage plays have really helped him improve his acting period. (My Friend Is Hitler (I think that's the name?) that was scary and omg XD TOMA IN GREASE AHHH SLICKED BACK HAIR SMOKING TOMA god save my heart I loved John Travolta in that movie so Toma as Danny Zuko? Heart is dead)
*gets back on track* Really :D? I'm super happy to hear that but I'm not shocked. He hasn't officially acknowledged his acting style but I'm pretty sure he's method style which is why he takes breaks between characters so he can remember what it's like to be himself :O!
guys it may be lame to comment up here on my own article but what the hell i'll do it because ALL YOUR COMMENTS MADE ME SO HAPPY. KYAAH. I hope you don't mind but I want to reply to everyone ^.^

I need a new anime series to get into actually since I just finished watching the summer series Free! Iwatobi swimming club so this recc. comes at a good time :D! plus as much as I avoid the Ningen Shikkaku story I know I really like it because it makes me think a lot and come up with all these philosophical questions, so I will definitely watch it. (Can I friend you btw? You sound really cool! Anyone who likes Eric is mad cool :D that is Eric in your profile picture right T.T that would be awkward if it wasn't and my eyes are failing me again)
