Watch The Treacherous to learn about the king this was based on. Changing his name and calling it fictional doesn’t change the fact this is based on a web novel using The 10th king of Joseon, the worst tyrant in Joseon’s history, as inspiration. I suppose he won’t have boils on his face in this version.

I agree! It’s like in the future let’s make a romantic comedy with Hitler(or Stalin, Pol Pot,Mao Zedong,Kim Il-Sung, Mussolini, Idi Amin, Pinochet) as the main character! But change his name so no one will know it’s really him!
They say the movie Treacherous is a very close depiction of how evil the 10th King of Joseon was and yet it was couldn’t show how bad he actually was.
This drama can’t deny its source material.
