I feel like the hype for this drama was primarily with Net and James. As it should. That being said I think the execution is lacking for some of the scenes, but the chemistry is top tier. The friends with benefits is getting lost for me with the trauma. I understand that it is obviously important to the story, but I still feel like it it could have focused on Uea as the primary focus. It honestly really is his show and king seems like a side character.
Also, this is only 8 episodes. This seems rather short to explore Uea's trauma.
I felt the same heartbreak as Gaipa. I lost my mom unexpectedly and I knew her main concern was if I was going to be okay on my own. This episode was just to much and I did have to skip some scenes. The loss of my own mom made this episode hard to watch.
I get the sense that the story arc for Mi Ling and Heart is nearly concluded and that the final episode might…
I really hope they focus on Li ming choosing to move on his own. I think it will be a nice change of pace to see a young person branch out and go out of the country.
How can anyone expect parenting stuff from Jim when Li Ming isn't his own son
I honestly don't think it matters that Li Ming is not his son. He stepped up and still raised him. That makes no difference whether they are father and son.
Uncle Jim is honestly frustrating. While I get it that he doesn't want Li Ming to go through what he went through, but someone honestly needs to have a discussion with him that he suffocating him. It just seems like no one, besides Wen, has been a voice of reason. Parenting isn't easy, obviously, but he being blind.
This episode was so good. I now understand why Wen said it was complicated. So many feelings are out from all parties. I hope in episode 5 they give us background on Wen and Alan.
I am loving the mature conversations that these characters are having. Wen's dad really hit the nail on the head about the complication of love. I also understand that it isn't as easy as someone no longer loving someone. I really think that Wen does love Alan, but it's not the same anymore. I can't wait for them to delve deeper into their story.
Learning more about Jim's background for why he is resistant to getting into a relationship hurt. He had so much love for that man (saying this with disgust, because the AUDACITY) and to be played that way was just messed up. He has a kind nature, but he tends to wear his heart on his sleeve.
Li Ming and Heart in my opinion will be delivering some of the heart wrenching scenes. I just feel like that young love is gonna hurt us all.
I thought this was going to be a bit more serious, but it wasn't. That was a bit disappointing. I still enjoyed it though. Especially as you go through the film. I was thinking it was going to be like Lady Vengeance.
And just like that it goes from lust to longing. Jim is the sweet, dependable man Wen needs. Wen is the spark…
I love that you brought the back to reality point. It does seem like Wen and Jim's story is kind of a dream. Like they are in their own world and then they are brought back into the real world when the other people come into play.
I didn't expect the 2nd episode. That being said, it was nice that we got to see more about Heart and Li Meng. I am interested in learning more about Uncle Jim though.
Side note: Mix in his hoe era is lovely. He is so in lust with Jim, I can't wait to see him when his feelings go further.
It's too early to tell but tbh I'm really liking it so far. Apart from the absolutely stellar cast, just the characters…
I loved the observation about Jim. He acted on the attraction, but still clearly set a boundary that he doesn't want anything beyond that. I honestly feel it's defense mechinism. He doesn't have time for anything beyond a one night stand or he could tell that Wen would bring on more than he is willing to deal with at this time.
Starting this. Currently on the first episode and I am hoping that Gi Bbeum has growth as a person. It's just hard to sit through her being meek. I wonder if she was always like this.
