Tbh, in most of the recent dramas with Yang zi as fml, every Ml is just there more as a support actor.. So they have to shine in whatever space given, and xu kai must have known about his character in drama so need for us to feel bad for him or the character..
I always felt grandma would pass hotel to her. She told the grandson "Have you ever sought after meaningful things?"
I don't quite like this reasoning though, YZM is smart, self made and hard working , even without the hotel he'll try to achieve his dreams.. But, with no responsibility towards hotel and after this bitter feeling of betrayal from his even last family member will form much more twisted view of life for him ..
