Its 3am and it took me a week to watch this beautiful drama.
Story - king wants to make korean language letters while everyone uses chinese letters. The chinese letters are so hard to learn with thousand of letters and characters. Only people who have free time can learn chinese and only rich people have free time, poor people have to farm or be slaves/servants to survive. If writing and reading becomes accessable to everyone then "nobles and slaves will be equal" and a lot of people dont want that.
There is no good or bad in this drama, if you put yourself in the kings shoes youll understand him, if you put yourself in the other organizations shoes youll understand them a bit.
At one point a character said " im a butcher if everyone become a butcher then what will be so special about my job, if everyone is a warrior then what will make the royal guards special, if everyone knows how to write and read whats so special about scholars then?"
And his point of view can even be seen today, if everyone can do my job, then what am i suppose to do.
Actors - the king was the best actor, he really showed all possible emotions and he was so alive in the role. He felt royal haha
Evil ministers are veteran actors i enjoy their schemes and smirks.
Jang hyuk is so fucking good at martial arts i had to google him and realized he actually has some international taekwondo awards.
Shin se kyung is hot and i love her for being hot.
9.5/10 because one thing i didnt like which is i dont know if i spelled it right its earsdropping. I know there is no CCTV or mobile phone cameras in historicals so earsdropping on people is the only way things are heard and spresd but i dont like it.

The female lead, my comment was mean but i do like her a lot in other movies i saw her in. Marrying the mafia and queen of the night . She is gorgeous but in here her stylist ruined her beauty.
I really love how the story never stops moving, if an issue is solved another issue starts and the story moves on, equal power struggle, no lame one-sided "bad vs good" its more of ideas vs ideas.
I might rate it 9 or 10 depending on the final episodes

the acting of the main cast is amazing, side characters acting was very awful, that cop detective guy cant act its like he walked in on this movie and they were like okay you are hired.
the story is cool half way then its stopped, jin goo is the reason i watched it. as always the kid is amazing, his future shall be bright.
the gun fighting scenes are awesome
i dont mind if drama writers fuck around with lovers plot or anything, you can ruin everything in any drama. BUT NOT THIS FRIENDSHIP. IM YELLING AT MY SCREEN
