I wonder why the male lead wore a Jewish necklace throughout the movie
I think it was one of those instances where the use of the shape (Star of David in this instance) was used by the designer/costumer purely for aesthetics and because they liked the shape. Same thing happens all the time in fashion with crucifixes, for example. I loved the fashion in this show! But yes, the necklace did stand out.

Ruo Yun chooses unique dramas ,, he doesn't do stereo-type Chinese dramas often most of his dramas are unique,…
he’s such a good actor and I wish there were more shows with him playing lead… more singing too!

I think a lot of people blindly give 10 rating. 10 rating = masterpiece. And in this one I didn't find any amazing…
“fragile psychological balance” 🤣

What a wonderful review. I appreciate you putting into words the thoughts I had myself. I agree - I loved the first season but was very disappointed in the 2nd. Yet, there were great performances by the actors. One of the things I loved about Tushan Jing was the way his character stood in contrast to all the revenge that was going on, highlighting how harmful the revenge cycle is and that it does not translate to real happiness. His happiness was on another level than everyone else’s in the show so it was impossible for them to understand it while they were still stuck in materialism, pride and vengefulness. 🦘🐨🇦🇺

It's not for everyone. It has a certain humor that not everyone can get. If you can't get the humor by ep 10,…
thanks to your helpful review I did return to this. it was a lot easier to watch then. there were enjoyable developments and scenes. I hate to quit a series so thanks for the help 🥰

Totally agree with your review. I couldn’t stop watching either and kept laughing at inopportune moments and cringing in others. I only watched it for the cute little boy, who I saw in a trailer.

I really dislike this drama. In the starting episodes all men are hurting the FL without any consequences and…
@rov3 I agree with you and have found that fact very hard to watch - physical violence and emotional abuse. I also found the emotional abuse of Deng Wei’s character hard to take, culminating with a drugged sexual assault which seems to have been glossed over. I am fairly new to C-dramas and have noticed there is an awful lot of abusive type behaviour across the spectrum even in the modern dramas. I find it disturbing but it actually seems to be an expectation in the plot like the inevitable under water kiss or accidental full body contact. I wonder if the violence is being employed deliberately as a semi-erotic plot overtone - for instance I think TJC’s character is definitely meant to be dominant? interested to hear your thoughts.

thanks for your detailed reply. I’ve been immersing in c-drama for my language skills, and think I’ve just reached that point where I can’t stomach any more cliches eg the spoken thought monologues in public places, the messages back and forth, the whining and backstabbing female characters, the carrying of an injured person, the rush to hospital to denote the sincerity of one’s attachment, the crossed wires/communication breakdowns and so forth. I’m also watching Follow Your Heart at the same time and having the same reaction. I look forward to reading your hyperlinks. cheers from Oz 🐨🇦🇺🦘
