I only started C-dramas at random, about 4 years ago; watching about 3 to 4 dramas a year. I don't know much about the C-actors and actresses. Going around on the many observations and insights from other comments, there are a lot of underrated actors and actresses in the Chinese Entertainment Industry. It is that they were not given enough recognition, considering their acting skills are at par with those of popular celebrities. Song Yiren, the female lead here is also one underrated actress; despite her acting talents, and being fluent in 3 languages, that is, Chinese Mandarin, English, and French, she was not given the importance she deserved. Most fans tend to look at the 'eye candy" element. *** As for you, for me, and for those who truly appreciated the worth of those so-called underrated personalities, we still regarded them as the "Gems and Treasures of the Entertainment Industry . . .

I agree with your points here. I had already forgotten this drama and don't know if it will be shown. However, let us not forget that the Chinese Entertainment Industry is governed by the Chinese Communist Party (CCP) and their ways of controlling and censoring their dramas are different from what we're thinking of. And it doesn't matter to the CCP if delaying the release of such dramas will hurt the actors, actresses, or their studios, as long as their political context is satisfied. Hence, the reason that I don't like to dwell too much on C-dramas. I am just watching randomly, as I don't too many C-actors and actresses.
