Wow! You stated it so well! Yes, that cute dimples of Liu Xueyi is something else, plus that long eyelashes are…

" The Reality of Chinese Broadcasting Constraints: A major point raised on Reddit is the strict network censorship…
I can definitely understand that frustration from a viewer’s perspective! When you look at a 47-episode length, it seems like there should be more than enough time to pace everything out perfectly.
However, the big challenge here is that the production team didn't actually write a 47-episode script from scratch. The drama was filmed as a massive, continuous epic that had to be retroactively chopped and compressed into two separate parts (31 episodes for Part 1 and 16 episodes for Part 2) to fit strict, sudden network formatting regulations. When editors are forced to cut chunks of footage out in the editing room just to meet a mandatory broadcast ceiling, even the best directors run out of room to pace the transitions smoothly. It’s definitely an unfortunate byproduct of industry constraints rather than lazy storytelling.
i feel like they could've cut more other scenes and gave better explanations for the relationship of Lin jinqi…
Good points! When a drama spends dozens of episodes meticulously building up heavy emotional armor and deep-seated resentment, the audience needs to see a matching, step-by-step emotional resolution to feel satisfied.
It does feel like a missed opportunity that they chose to breeze through her internal shift into acceptance so quickly after making us wait for so long. Spending less time on secondary setup and just a few more dedicated minutes showing her heart actually softening would have given their relationship the profound, cathartic payoff it truly deserved.
Thank you for your insights here —it perfectly articulates why that specific emotional transition felt so jarring!
Haha, maybe some extra pacing, but definitely not a total flop! The foundation of this drama is still way too strong to let one rushed episode ruin the whole ride.
