So finally the summary of this drama is no longer this one: ""Melancholia" focuses on a terrible sex scandal at a prestigious private high school in Gangnam between a student and his teacher." ? I still hope that it will be so, I would have liked to see the other side of the story, when it reveals well this notion of abuse between a teacher and his student and that we see clearly that there is nothing romantic about it. It could have been a change from what we can see. I remember enjoying the American series A Teacher with Nick Robinson, which deals very well with the subject and the damage it can do to a 16/17 year old.
I am hesitant to start watching this drama. On the one hand, the legal and reality TV aspects interest me. But I saw some Youtube videos and I'm afraid it's gory with a lot of conspiracy and mafia and stuff? Is this the case? :)
I actually interpreted 'layer' as in clothing-shedding their clothing, as in them sleeping together. I didn't…
I see that everyone interprets it differently. I would tend to agree with Parilicious as he nods his head and points to the box of condoms. After all this drama is not really a love story and his ex was far from being a saint.
I'm completely out of context but as a French person, I'm obliged to watch this drama in English on Netlix since the French translation will only be released once the drama is finished in Korea. I had a question about episode 1: when his ex says to Na Bi "Whether or not this one layer comes between us tonight will confirm the sincerity of our relationship." "This one layer" he is talking about is actually the condom? Or, the phrase simply means "What happens or doesn't happen between us tonight will confirm the sincerity of our relationship." ? I really don't understand the meaning of this sentence :/
This drama is a real favourite. It perfectly represents today's youth (in my country) where serious relationships hardly exist anymore and there are more and more "hookup"? I don't know if it's the right word since English is not my first language. I find the actors very accurate in their roles although I still have a lot of trouble with Han Soo Hee. Indeed, I don't find her very charismatic and I don't feel anything when she plays. This is still the case here although I tried to ignore it and start from scratch with her. I can't wait to see what happens next.
But based on people who have read the webtoon there are a lot of kisses though even some steamy scenes, I don't…
I hope with all my heart that you are right. Because for the moment it's just "amalgamation of angles". A set of cameras, a bit like in You’re Beautiful.
If they follow the webtoon to the letter, it won't be a typical drama! I hope they will respect the ending. That they won't change anything to keep the usual clichés of a drama and please the fans when there is a moral above all. I hope you won't insult me, but I'm looking forward to this drama precisely because the webtoon is a change from the ordinary and for Song Kang. On the other hand, what makes me drag my feet is clearly the actress who I never found charismatic (like we say in my country "les goûts et les couleurs, on ne discute pas") and who never transported me with her acting. I unfortunately don't feel anything when I see her act. We will see. ♥
I'm glad this will be in netflix and not in viki. no more waiting for subtitles.
It depends in which country :( We would have had it faster in France if it was on Viki. Unfortunately, when a drama is licensed to Netflix in our country, we have to wait for the full season to air in Korea before we get it :(
Hello! I've been looking forward to this drama since it was announced. The cast is amazing (although I don't know Shin Do Hyun, but I think she'll do very well ^^). In the teasers, I think I recognized Ailee's voice for an OST. I hope it will have the same effect on me as Goblin :) Can't wait to see it!
