A quick comment on episode 4. FL gets upset at remarks from Lawyer Dong about a failed marriage and proceeds to say there isnt a success or failure in marriage. That is decidedly false. If a business dissolves without hitting its goals, that is a failure. The goal in marriage, across most cultures, is two souls spending the rest of their days, till death separates them, togther through anything life throws at them. It wont always be peaceful nor harmonious but sticking it out is a success. A divorce, whether done willingly or amicably, is still a failure of that. Ive been through one and though i tried my best to keep it together, i know it was a failure and i do not pretend otherwise to feel better about myself. There's a reason why we celebrate when we hear about couples together for decades. Its a celebration of something that is very difficult to do and requires humility by both parties. Its a success.
I didnt want something so blatantly frivilous put in by writers to go unnoticed and not responded to.
That was quite a trailer. Not really sure why the concept of ninjas in modern day Japan and involved in espionage hasn't been a more regular thing (considering spy genre)
Wife is raging at how lame FL is acting compared to webtoon and me, having not seen it, agree. Theyre making her deal with self confidence or emotions that shouldve been handled in 1st or 2nd episode. She knows what is basically happening in advance and is taking way too long to act like it. Imstead ML is 2 steps ahead. Not sure what the heck theyre thinking, but it doesnt work. Not only that, but why is the soon to be cheating couple played for laughs when theyre together? I see Hallyu has the same issue Hollywood does: "we can make it better". No one is asking for that, either in America or Korea, just adapt the story everyone already knows. It aint that hard.
Also wanted to add, is her unit a offshoot of MASH? Theyre all medical professionals and yet keep making terrible…
One last thing, two times this drama takes legitimate concerns of a community (the apartment members of head nurse and the families of patients under care of FL) and tries to paint them in negative lights when they have every right to at least question a situation. Obviously there might be ignorance but thats too be expected . The problem will always be balancing the rights of individuals versus the harmony/cohesion of a society. The writers couldve presented a more balanced and i wouldve respected that approach instead of making people needlessly into antagonists

On episode 8 and a bit annoyed with how theyve gone about Bo Young's character. Shes basically a patient working at the ward. Never mind they didnt establish enough to show why she suddenly deals with what she does in 8. Its just too heavy.
This drama wouldve been far better helped if her character came into a ward that was just burnt out and literally became their "Daily Dose of Sunshine." Far better use of her talents as an actress and you could still shine a light on very real mental issues that society deals with. Not that she'd be invulnerable but it just suffers from the same heavy handedness so many Kdramas fall into nowadays.
Side note: My wife and I both noticed in the very first episode that Kim Yoo Jung remarkably looks like a younger Kim So-Yeon. Both have those smoldering eyes down. And now would root for a drama featuring the both of them.
Hey are there any Christians who are watching this? I'm nervous to give it a shot if it's too demonic or spiritually…
I wouldnt take any kind of theology from this, thats for sure. It's like they want an Eastern approach to Christian/Catholic symbolism and motiffs and butcher it because, well, theyre either trying to avoid being accused of negative to a religion somehow or they just dont really understand what theyre talking about (or both). As a long time anime watcher, this is nothing new or surprising as the creators do it all the time there.
Some stuff is more annoying because it ventures very close from just being wrong to actually being something that would lead others to confusion. I wouldnt say its too demonic or accurate though. As Paul says though, somethings are a stumbling block to some but not others.
2 episodes in and its more funny and engaging than annoying but its early. Id simply say, give the first episode a watch and if it doesnt sit right with you, drop it.
Region-or-country-locked, and phone app only, so, even if you are in the right location, you can't even watch…
You could always cast the phone screen itself (obviously not ideal) or, use an emulator and cast your desktop which might look a little better (but still not ideal).
