I just don’t get it…..it seems her trust is firmly with the douche bag second lead who is so creepy, scheming and just vile. Not the the ML is any better…Has she even asked any REAL questions of either of them? She is NOT smart but delusional…and that poor child…she used him and the men are using him now too!
The whole drama is one ridiculousness to another….it not even angst because it so badly written….to me it had the premise of a good drama but…
I will come back and ask someone to spoil me once it ends😡😩😂😱

Exactly Jokers!! If the novel is this bad then why was is made into a show…it’s so bad it’s 🤮, but I too am curious and have lack of historical drama to watch (I only watch the costume ones) that isn’t a gazillion episodes 😀

Is it me or does anyone else feel really creeped out by Song’s persistent behaviour of taking advantage of Miao whenever she is drunk!
This and his stalker behaviour has completely got me routing for the main lead.🤮🤮

This might be one of those shows that might be best watched once the series has been completed…it may make more sense… still as everyone has been pointing out..editing sucks royally…..script is not half bad…none of the characters are hugely annoying like some other dramas (often FLs)..so can’t complain too much but I will shelf till it’s done and decide…sad..I like both the ML and FLs!!

Based on the comments…it seems I can afford to wait for the express episodes to come to Viki….shame!!

It wasn’t even promoted as anything other than what it is..an intense semi fictional drama with true historical references (acting by Liu Jin and co is not shabby either) about the number of people who helped solve it…probably China won’t be as if is if the river had washed it all away without their great efforts…

Haha….just more screen time too..but I totally understand your sentiment re the father but am pretty sure no one likes being played or ignored…still that aside the show is light hearted and entertaining, I have successfully laughed out loud and kept watching!!

I have liked the ML since watching TRoTP with NiNi and Chen Kun..…he played his support role exceptionally well.

Like the show but is it me or is the ML playing a third wheel to his wives? Still looking forward to seeing how he manages the 4th prince, his budding romance with LW and his truly rubbish father though not the worst for cdrama 😀

I think he is doing a good job based on the script given….and the editing…I find that with cdramas, the shows can be wrecked because of the poor editing or mandatory cuts.

I agree with @tzone. I don’t watch them for the same reason too but this one has been good so far. There will always be aspects that are lacking (primarily the promised ‘steamy’ scenes 😀) but it’s entertaining and both leads are doing a great job of the script given.

I am however, expecting something terrible to happen soon based on the teasers…..😬am not looking forward to that!

Effectively, we simply have to ignore the ratings for the shows we want to watch and like and just enjoy them. Thank goodness for the ability to choose!

I tried that…I dropped it after 3 episodes…..but thank you. I really couldn’t get into it. I am not sure if it’s the script or the way the story was portrayed but it just was……… in any case I will keep giving these modern ones a try, so yeah, thank you!

I never watch modern c or kdramas…I am here for the main leads and I haven’t been disappointed so far…though Miss Li and the mother are becoming rather annoying…
Can someone explain why the rating is so low please?
