Maybe MDL goes to the same church as those ladies.
They are definitely not for free speech. A company like Facebook is pro-free speech, and only censors racist and homophobic words (eg,the n-word and f*ggot). But MDL censors whatever some silly prudish Church Lady demands.

LOL, I think you're right. Either that or they don't even read the posts they delete.

Title River's Edge
From my mum's interpretation the dude. He was full of rage after seeing his crush being with someone else.
Nah, he loved those kittens. It was the psycho girl who loved him.

Title River's Edge Spoiler
About those kittens........
People below asked who killed the kittens. Well, it was the psycho girl who liked the gay guy. She killed them because she knew he loved them, and she was pissed that he had just dumped her. The movie consistently portrayed her as the kind of mentally disturbed person who'd chop up kittens, so we had plenty of clues.

For instance, after he dumped her she knits him a scarf as if it never happened and lies to her friends that he "begged her for a scarf." The director then zooms in on her demonic expression as she's stabbing yarn with the knitting needles. She'd also been stalking him and his female friends throughout the movie. She even sent death threats to a girl she thinks he's cheating with. And then she tried to burn down that same girl's house! Gladfully, she ended up dying in the fire herself. Given all these clues, I'm not sure why it was still a question, but since it was, I thought I'd point out what to look for if you watch again.
On Why Don't You Play In Hell? Jun 20, 2023
I'm no fan of Sion Sono, and find most of his stuff to be overly stylized, bombastic explosions of an Auteur Director who takes himself far too seriously. Which is why I was so surprised by how this movie not only pokes fun of such directors, but does such a spanking good job of it.

It is a brilliantly funny, original, and excellently performed movie about a guerilla group of filmmakers called "The Fuck Bombers" who are, of course, making a movie. Meaning, we get a movie within a movie. And since they are filming a real life Yakuza war, this means they get down with gangsters in the actual act of killing each other; hence, portraying how The Fuck Bombers will die for their art.

It is Sion Sono's meta movie with in-jokes on the nature of making movies, and the obsessives who make them.

Kazuma doesn't know that Ren's parents disowned him. He only knows that his own parents sent him to America. But he had lived in America before so this was not too traumatic for him. But Ren's parents, siblings, grandparents, relatives all said they did not know him anymore. I am shocked it's still this taboo to be gay in Japan.

Liking BL and liking "I'm gay only for you" is most probably connected to commitment mixed with fantasy as in…
I also loved Cherry Magic and Our Dating Sim, so I guess I do like some fluff. I'm glad to see that My Beautiful Man and Old Fashioned Cupcake are among your faves cuz they are both on my Top 10 BL list. But I don't think of either show as fluffy. As I said above Hira is too weird and creepy for that to be called fluffy, lol. Nor do I think Old Fashioned Cupcake is fluffy because Togawa's confession scene was heart-wrenching. I still rewatch that scene!

I know a couple of gay guys who visit this site and I'm always happy to have them since they are rare. I myself am also rare in the BL community since I am 55 years old and the average age of fujoshis is 15-25. It's a new movement for young people. But once I discovered it, I just fell down the rabbit hole with the rest of you! I'm so glad I have all of you to talk with about these shows.

Maybe it's the same reason they like villain romances. The appeal of "you are the exception" and/or "you changed…
Now that's a cool theory. You're saying that since hetero guys don't like kissing other guys, it means they are still available to the female viewers. I can see how women project themselves into a love story to fantasize that they are the man's actual partner.

As for the "rotten girl" fujoshi, I read that the Japanese called them rotten because they were deemed unmarriageable, and also thought to have a sexual fetish for gay guys. Well, I don't think it's quite a fetish because if it were, we could just watch gay porn. It's all over the internet. But we like the love stories.

At any rate, I love how our community has reclaimed the term "fujoshi" such that it's no longer pejorative. Black people did the same thing with the n-word.

Can someone spoiler me what happened between them 10 years ago?
In the manga, the parents found out 10 years ago and sent each abroad to separate them. Kazuma's mother sent him to America while Ren's parents sent him to France. In fact, Ren's parents flat out disowned him for being gay. It's kind of funny that they sent him to France, because it's super easy to be gay in France and, thus, the parents were helping him to be more gay, not less, lol

Liking BL and liking "I'm gay only for you" is most probably connected to commitment mixed with fantasy as in…
To begin, I love Asian cinema. And it was while watching Asian films that I discovered this genre called "BL." I researched it and learned that BL's were different from LGBT because they were written by and for women, whereas LGBT films are for mixed audiences. Brokeback Mountain, for instance, was for mixed audiences as everyone -- male or female, gay or straight -- went to see that. I like gay love stories such as Brokeback because there are more challenges for the lovers to overcome, so the stories are more dramatic.

I also love the English film "Maurice" which is about a man in 1910 England who would be imprisoned if caught. Talk about a challenge! This film actually had a happy ending because the lovers left traditional society to live on their own terms. I also loved the film about Oscar Wilde which, of course, did not have happy ending because he actually was imprisoned. Characters in lesbian films have to overcome obstacles as well, so I find these to be very dramatic. A great one is called "Carol" with Cate Blanchett. It's set in the 1950's where a mother could lose her child if she's caught in a lesbian relationship.

Frankly, I prefer the more realistic gay love stories to fluffy BL's, which I guess means I prefer LGBT films. But I do like BLs too, it's just that I don't like the fluffy ones. For instance, everyone on MDL loved the fluffy "At Our Dining Table" while I thought the boys had no sex drive and the personalities of tissue paper. My fave BL is "My Beautiful Man" and that's because Hira is just so damned weird. He's too creepy and obsessive, while Kiyoi is too much a jerk for that show to be deemed fluffy. I also loved "The Pornographer" and that was not fluffy at all. In fact, the writer was a liar and often cruel to the student.

I liked that story because we saw how the writer was actually very insecure and had built defense mechanisms, which the sweet student broke down. The same thing happens in the English movie "God's Own Country" where a country boy is closed off and angry, until this sweet Romanian man opens him up to the tenderness of love. I like seeing that kind of character growth. Lastly, I love "Night Flight" and "No Regrets" which are definitely LGBT and not BL. They are both far too realistic to be BL. Moreover, both are written and directed by a gay man, not a woman. These two movies show how challenging it is to be gay in homophobic Korean society and, hence, the drama is intense. In a nutshell, I find gay love stories to have more drama.

With the exception of Brokeback Mountain, all the movies I mentioned are available online for free. So if you haven't seen any of them, go check them out!

How did the dead son's mom find out who crippled him?How did she find out where the collector lived? How did she…
This is the funniest post . I certainly got an answer to my question as to whether this movie was good or not. Now, you did not specify, but I'm guessing the woman was pretending to be his mom to win him over in order to exact revenge for her real son's death at the end. Let me know in a spoiler if my guess is right or not.
