Yes while a lot of ppl do agree for modern bc they do get draggy at times when it comes to 40 eps, as for historical they would rather have more than 16 eps bc of the novel being longer a lot of important scenes would get cut which wouldn't make sense at all w/ the ending being rushed as well. I've also heard they MIGHT split into 2 parts but I don't know if it's true depending on what Youku wants to do :/
