I just read the novel cause I’m too impatient hahaha. I absolutely called it with why the female lead is the way she is. I really want everyone misunderstanding her behaviour to rewatch the 1st 10 episodes, like actually watch it, watch her situation as a child, her adoptive family, her parents and maybe they can see what some of us could see so far (even without reading the novel).
Anyway, the actors are doing an amazing job. As a was reading the book, I could literally see them, their emotions and the way they brought the characters to life. I’m so excited for the rest of the episodes as this is a beautiful story!
She experienced trauma as a child then spent her childhood being oppressed, controlled and manipulated. Yes, she is anxious and reserved, hesitant even. But labelling her weak and pathetic is such a stretch. I didn’t read the novel but even I could gather that from the 10 episodes. People who are anxious and/or depressed don’t just step out courageously. It only makes sense in the setting that she would only be able to speak her mind after getting drunk. Liquid courage, you know? I honestly think she’s braver than a lot of us. She’s smart enough to understand that she can’t just cut her family off as she’s dependent on them financially. Also, there could be a sense of loyalty as they took her in and raised her. It seems she’s biding her time. This is such a realistic portrayal as opposed to her breaking free and setting off on her own and expecting viewers to buy into it.
I came here to share how episode 10 broke me and then read some of the comments and I’m sober lol. Think I’ll have to stay away from the comment section for this one.
This was such a beautiful story with beautiful people (and I don’t just mean appearances). Everyone was just genuinely good people. Even the villains aren’t villains, the one was emotionally scarred and the other was just blindly supporting her best friend. The relationships were so authentic but also beautiful. The siblings had the sibling rivalry but were also protective of one another. The parent-child relationship was so healthy, goodness! They express their opinions without being hurtful or getting angry. The roommates were such amazing and supportive friends! No jealousy or backstabbing! And the mains, oh the mains! Such a healthy relationship! It’s been a while since I saw a relationship without stupid misunderstandings or breakups. This drama really deserves all of its flowers!!!
Ah this really feels like a first crush… he’s dropping hints and she’s overthinking, not wanting to misunderstand. Then the minute he makes his feelings clear, my girl creeps out of a shell, becomes confident and gives him some sass. I know they’re fictional but man, I’m praying for their happiness haha.
I made it past lion dude but those words on screen during the fight that’s, like, out of an arcade game is killing me… I stopped midway in episode 1. Someone please encourage me, I wanna do this for Xu Kai hahaha
Episode 38: I feel like when LL introduced TT to her grandparents and TT introduced herself as Mr REN’s student and then rushed off, she was being considerate of LL?
Thoughts as I finally finish this drama. Episode 36: superb acting by the entire cast but man! That crying scene between TT and RTZ!!! Really pulled on my heart strings😭😭😭
