I donβt understand why some viewers disliked this season. If you enjoy comedy with a perfect blend of drama,…
I, personally, like the illness part with Father Kim, obviously my heart breaks anytime when it happens but story wise it makes sense, he might be the best fighter there is but he is still just a human. People were complaining in the first two episodes this season that action was too much and too little humanity. Now that we are getting to the emotional stuff, people are complaining again. Crazy stuff. Father Kim was mentally suffering in the first season and finally overcame becoming a stronger man, now he is physically suffering. As long as he lives to lead season 3, I will suffer whatever trauma the writer puts me through by him in the coming episodes π
One question, are they trying to add supernatural tag to this drama? Because what is the deal with the ghost?
Given that we also have a super conductor and a budget superhero, I wouldn't mind our shinbunim getting a pair of glorious wings or something. Just saying ππ
The comedy in S2 is a bit over the top at times, but personally I think it makes sense; he's not a lone wolf desperately…
yup, the comedy is not too much compared to season 1 definitely, and it mostly happens when the team is together. Father Kim was pretty chill in Busan until Detective Gu showed up after all π
I love this drama. But have only two complaints.1. ep 1 kimhae ll saying if there is no bad people, we donβt…
Didn't he meant it like people will not seek God through clergy because everyone is closer to God to begin with? rather than we will not need God. For the second point, I mean loads of other stories use Catholicism to build up another story. Like in Island, or the Nun. They are probably obliged to add the disclaimer by the Catholic church. They are pretty strict when it comes to the church depicted in popular media. At least it is what happens in my country.
About priests not taking things to their own hands, Crusaders? Jesuits? Knights Templar? It is only unheard of in the modern society, although I'm sure we can find a handful of examples if we look into it.
OMG they actually listened to the fans! It's insane. Guys if anybody feels down with how the season is going please watch episode 6. It was brilliant. THEY ARE BACK and it's cooler than ever!
Alright , I'm gonna say it and this is my opinion so far. Fiery Priest is probably my favorite series of all time, and I want this to be better than the last season, but the editor! I'm quite sure it's the editor.
First, the last scene of the first episode hit me a bit weird, the cuts were very random, when there's music playing in the background. Then the gag scenes lingered, ruining the point of the joke. Season 1 was so good because they knew where to end the scene and move on. And so many unnecessary cuts and questionable takes included in the final cut. I mean why would you focus on something pointless happening in the background when the good and bad meet? (unless that was some kind of foreshadowing, which I don't think it is) Episode 3 ended on a very high note and then episode 4 started like crazy. Same with episode 4 ending and episode 5 opening scenes. Was the trio even necessary there? That week of anxious waiting became a meh within a minute. And the final scene of the grandma (in episode 5) did it for me, there was no need for that music they used when something very dreadful was happening. I'd say that that scene didn't even deserve to be in the final cut at all looking at the episode 6 preview. I get that the ending theme songs are the series OST by the order of their release, so I have absolutely no problem with how episode 5 ended.
Music was insanely cool, cinematography was just beautiful and to me, the only weak link in the whole production looks like editing. Just, I hope that whoever edits this gets would do a better job in the coming episodes given that we are almost at the half and things should get more serious from now on. If he lingers on the jokes after the punch line, and makes serious scenes weigh less with unnecessary sounds it would be a shame because all other elements looks top notch.
I am very sorry for the rant, but it's just so frustrating because I love the story but the editing is getting too much for me. I don't think the editor is the same this season, please correct if I'm wrong.
Father Kim beating up people for mistreating elderly, half an hour later there he is giving Mini Hae-il a lecture for wanting to beat up people for mistreating elderly π€£π€£
Mini Hae il's comment about Father Kim's money makes me think about the time he didn't have enough money in the bank account to pay the sick child's hospital bill π₯Ί
Namgil's been complaining for a while now that he wants to do melo and give action a rest since he's getting old,…
I know right... I am currently obsessed with his perfect foot work with episode 2, it would've been a shame if we didn't get to see this. But I'd love to see him as a grumpy king in a period drama too
KNG's comment about the sea with Kim Won Hae π€£π€£π€£ Exact same quote he said to him in the Pirates (2014) I am so looking forward to the shenanigans this week
Lots of people seem to be thinking Father Kim is too much? My man's running at his grave full speed. I'm sure he can be crazy as much as he wants with the only family he's ever had. I kind of started thinking the same way too, but the doctor scene made me realize that he knew his time with them is limited. And by the looks of it, he is not expecting to come back to Gudam to be with his family again. So, personally I don't think him being too cozy with his family is a bad thing, I mean, he's pretty serious in Busan, at least until he reunited with detective Ku.
