That aspect of dramas still bothers me. "I'm going to die, so I'll spare her the suffering or worry." But that’s not what I was referring to. The fact that he always knew everything didn't convince me; it didn't feel natural, but rather forced by the plot—almost like a "convenience fairy" at work.

But what about the baby swap? I don't remember that plot. I thought the concubine had an affair with preceptor Xie. lol

I'm just finishing watching it, but Wuyi's "I already knew" solutions kind of annoy me. He always already knew, already investigated, already prepared. It seems it didn't find any narrative anchors, so they just come up with these magical solutions. Wuyi is an amazing character, I love him, but I felt his omniscience became something superficial, just pulled out of a hat. Despite this detail, I'm loving the drama.

It’s just a joke in the drama community, anyone who truly believes that is just plain stupid.
