The government is not against XZ. They have used him on many government TV stations and the Procuratorial Daily has spoken out against the haters that attacked him. He is even pursuing a criminal case against these people. Also, I heard on the teachers case that actually they were teaching students about cyberbullying and they used XZ as an example. The parents spoke out about this. The PRC has actually spoken out against the cyber violence XZ endured. There is a lot of slander on Weibo towards him.

At this time, I did see clips of his fans supporting him but I thought it was almost hopeless. basically, my thought process equivalent to what his fans went through in March to May. I really didn’t know the public supported him that much. Call me naive, but I did think it was only his fans supporting his song. I really thought he was blacklisted at this time since he couldn’t appear on variety shows or non government tv shows.

When I wrote these comments, I was reading articles from Sina and Sohu. I also watched some YouTube videos that made it seem as if it was near impossible for him to return. All the sources I came across at this time basically gave me the impression that his country hated him. It was only later I found out that Sina actually hates XZ and that a lot of the news were exaggerated and even distorted to mislead fans. even some fans I spoke to were confused and thought it he couldn’t overcome this. Unfortunately, my earlier comments are the result of this. I really believed that there was no way out for him.. I thought that the industry simply wouldn’t let him return at any cost. That’s why I didn’t realize how the negative things I was talking about could actually be harmful to him and other fans. I underestimated his strength and the power of his fans. I also did not know that the public actually supported him.

I think he'll be ok actually. They will release those 3 dramas including The Wolf. It's just a matter of finding the right timing. Yes, Wajijiwa is shit and doesn't deserve Xiao Zhan. He's actually getting more support from the authorities and the public.

When I wrote this comment, I was pretty depressed over his situation. I really thought it was over for him. All the news I read and watched about him at the time was extremely negative. Looking back at what I wrote, I do see what you mean in that what I wrote really is discouraging to people. His situation is improving now and I believe he will be fine. There's nothing I can say to make up for the potential distress that my words may have caused to other people here.

The government is actually quite supportive of him. It's really the rivals and their capital that is doing their best to suppress him from being seen on TV.

Don't rely on Sina. Sina hates XZ.

It's not the antis. TV stations aren't afraid of haters. What they're afraid of are the major conglomerates that will threaten to pull work from the stations. It's the capital behind the rivals (ie.Yuehua,) that are pressuring stations not to air the drama. They know if this drama airs, OOL will sweep all the awards. Also, Yuehua is doing their best to kick XZ out of the industry with the smear campaign.. Rival companies don't want XZ's work to appear on TV at any costs because XZ will win and be able to return right away.

I am a fan of Xiao Zhan. I really want him to come back and film new dramas and movies. I love his acting and his character. But right now, I'm not trying to be overly optimistic about his situation because I still think it's really complicated. I still stand by what I said. My comments may appear pessimistic to you but I really am thinking about all of these things carefully. If you saw the recent live stream of him with his endorsement, he tries to smile and look happy but clearly he looks tired and stressed. To me, he really doesn't seem to be actually filming any new dramas and I'm not saying this because I'm trying to make people leave him or anything. I'm trying to be realistic here ok?

If what this person describes is true, then I think it would be hard for Xiao Zhan. He is fighting an uphill battle for real.

Honestly, I don’t think he is filming many new dramas for next year. He did that interview with Sina Entertainment and I believe he said that he isn’t as busy as he used to be. He did say he was working on his own dubbing project though. I did hear rumours that he might be filming, but it’s not official. I do think the earliest we will see his actual new work would be in 2022 (like the person above said).

Actually, I just found out that his fans didn't report AO3. They only reported the AO3 fanfic that was trending on Weibo to Weibo. But I think antis found out and reported the AO3 platform to the government and then framed his fans and him.
