After waiting for a while just finished the whole drama and actually I liked it than I thought. I heard that the actress for FL role they first offered got into a tax evasion scandal and Esther had to take over the role. Seeing it's her first time acting a much serious character she did so much great. Specially the action scenes she did was way better than I thought. overall action scenes were actually beyond my expectations.
Actually there were many scenes Esther impressed me with her acting but I see few people complaining about Esther's facial expressions being stiff and comparing her to the SFL but in my opinion I thought character wise Yun Weishan is someone who lost the only person she loved and lived for, yet someone who yearns for her freedom. She's smart but not cunning So making expressions like SFL doesn't match her character. Shangguan Qian is more of a cunning and selfish character who needs more expressions as a negative character and Lu yuxiao actually did great at portraying the character.
So is Zhang Linghe as Gong Ziyu. His character is a kind and intelligent character but they didn't highlighted his intelligent part until the very end. I can see why because Guo Jingmin was always famous for not doing justice to main characters. This drama could have been a way more brilliant if they made more effort for the story. idk this is just my point of view. since people have different preference and expectations it changes from person to person.
Tbh 24 episodes isn't enough to justify every character since their were so many character. But compared to many dramas this was one of the best dramas once in a while. Every character & portrayal was outstanding.
