I can’t believe it’s been three years and I’m still obsessed with this drama. I’ve been searching for other Xianxia dramas, but honestly, since LBFAD, nothing has reached that standard. The ones I’ve watched always seem to fall short, either in storytelling, acting and chemistry, or production quality.

I 100% agree. Su Wu Ming doesn’t seem to have emotional feelings like the others, his mind is always occupied with cases and work. He feels like the kind of character who ends up alone at the end of the series, roaming the world by himself.

Yes, exactly! I know many Tang dynasty–set dramas try to create a similar atmosphere, but they often end up falling into clichés. For example, in many shows, when they want to show a woman’s strength, they just make her act like a man. But when Yingtao asked to go to the beauty shop ... I loved that moment! And then when she mentioned getting the recipe, it subtly showed that she’s not a frequent visitor. I really appreciate those little details. I really love how the women are written in this one, as a woman myself, it feels genuinely believable and so pleasing to watch. Everyone has both soft and brave sides. So beautifully done!

I don’t know if it’s just me or if it’s actually part of the story, but I really like the drama's subtle emphasis on gender equality (which I think also reflects the period of Wu Zetian’s reign). It’s so common in other C-dramas for women to be written as Mary Sues, even when they’re generals or warriors. But this drama doesn’t portray strength in a cliché way, it shows that women can be strong in their own ways: Xijun through her art, Yingtao through her martial skills, and now Wu Yang with her wit and resilience.

I want to give a shout-out to the lighting and directing team, it looks absolutely beautiful! I keep taking screenshots from the drama because it’s just so pleasing to the eyes.

I LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this drama! To the point that I’m intentionally lowering my expectations because I’m so scared they’ll ruin the ending. It’s been so long since I’ve been in a drama slump (except ADWAD, maybe for more than six months), and I can’t believe this drama is actually pulling me back into cdramas!

I can't think of a theory for this, but why can we suddenly hear Nan Heng's inner voice now instead of Song Yimeng's? Is he becoming the true protagonist of the script?

Even if this is true, iQIYI still exists, and honestly, their aesthetic suits LYN better. Tencent tends to overdo that white filter in their costume dramas anyway.

At this point, there are so many theories and unanswered questions. I reaaalllly hope they take their time to untangle all these knots one by one beautifully, without rushing a single thing!

Actually, if you look at her previous works, she is a certified tragic-drama actress! She KNOWS how to cry perfectly, I guess.

I liked the Korean version, but it had many flaws you had to overlook to enjoy it. For example, KJW wasn't stylish at all and Ji Hyuk's sister helps her dress for the reunion, yet suddenly she becomes a fashion icon who even gives style advice to Ji Hyuk! And after living so naively for about 30 years, she abruptly turns confident, acting like she KNOWS she'll win. For me Japanese version doesn't have this problems and Misa is more relatable.

Honestly, when are they going to resolve even ONE of these misunderstandings? It's just piling up at this point. My heart breaks for Nan Heng, he's lost SYM's trust completely, and now he's watching his best friend and loyal group being destroyed too.

So even in the first episode, when Nan Feng’s manager demands more screen time for him while he’s watching AJTL, they were teasing those past incidents? I’ve fallen even more in love with the production team. You can tell they put their whole souls into making this show. It’s like they channeled all that pain from their past, the unfairness they went through, and turned it into something beautiful. This wasn’t just another drama for them; it was somehow personal.
