Here is my take.
It is a magical connection between lovers.If they break up, the seal disappear and the memories for each other erased.
The seal disappeared when JY died in the valley.When he came back,he lost his memory due to the forbidden skill he used to kill SL.Later he gained all his memory after gathering all YZ .Yet, by this time ,he was consumed by YZ ,became demon and they fought to death.
At the final scene JY came back with full memories with his pure heart,the seal reappeared and they reunited.Like it is a full circle.

She use all her cultivation and gave all three hearts to JY to resurrect him from ash.

Now I understand why they cut the lip bite kissing in wedding night because if we see the full scene,we can't survive and explode to death, become Yin Zhus and join to Underworld Hot Lord.So NY can't defeat JY because of extra Yin Zhus and the drama ending will change drastically.So they have no choice but to cut 🤣🤣.

We got whole episode 36 for JY and NY having good time ,proposal and wedding before the final battle. Their relationship is so healthy from the beginning to end.Love their final reunion with the romance seal that mean the monarch JY with full memories is back.
As a novel reader,love this adaptation very much.The ending in novel is way more rushed than the drama and NY even doesn't know what JY did for her.In the drama,they both know each other very well and decide together what they have to do before the final battle. Really appreciate the scriptwriter's tremendous efforts.
Edit: feel sad by knowing the beautiful well written ending scene was cut .
