Oh, I've watched explicit romantic dramas all the time. I'm not sure what you mean by real romance, because The Untamed (although claims to have none) is very romantic, in my eyes. And I've watched drama for more than 25 years and I'm really open to all kinds of drama. So The Untamed is very romantic without all thos kissing and bed scene.
So there is absolutely no BL in this show? I thought this was a BL novel, am I wrong?

Lol I know there’s a lot of us on the boat and I enjoy everyone here so much esp reading their comments and feeling relief that there’s someone else who understands my obsession.
So I went to watch some more fan made mv, and I just re-realized why I love this drama (novel/story as a whole) so much. Besides the great storyline and moral of the story, I just want to share why the two leads left such obsessive impression in my heart...
1. I love Wei Wu Xian’s adorable character. He is a combination of everything good: funny, smart, kind hearted, playful, and sweet. Whenever I see him it always put a smile on my face. He is a special character compared to all other mc I’ve watched in dramas. Who wouldn’t fall in love with someone like him? Lol I just love him a lot.
2. Lan Zhan’s love for Wei Wu Xian makes him the ideal lover in everyone’s dream ^_^. Because he is a very serious/emotionless/strong person who always does the “right” thing and is regarded highly by others, it knocks me off my senses when he falls in love with WWX. I just love how he slowly falls for WWX from trying so hard to fight his feelings at first to slowly accepting his feelings and staying true to his hear. I think the person who I felt the most heartache for and with is Lan Zhan. We (fans) know that LZ have realized his feelings early on for WY, everything that he did was for protecting WWX (super sweet). And how he lost WWX was the most torturous phase in his life, so when he had a second chance at loving WWX again, he likes really love him in broad daylight (only blunt WWX cannot see clearly). But The second time around he stayed by his lovers side and protected him at all cost from believing and trusting WWX without a doubt. (Let’s not forget that he is also the strongest character at fighting and in beast mode *wink wink* in that)
Anyways I really still can’t move on to any new drama. I’ve tried a few, which are ok, but I stopped and just went back to get my daily doses of The Untamed. I silently pray that I can move on and become normal again yet I still refuse to move on somehow.....So Confusing.
So i ve been patient and i m at 20th episode. So where is that (bro)mance? They dont have that much of scenes…
Everyone have already said it, but I would suggest you drop it or skip to the present episodes because they will be together more. This drama is not a romance drama like those between a girl and a guy. I guess that’s why it’s so much deeper and lovely than any drama I’ve watched.

I heard that Xiao Zhan’s movie Jade Dynasty blew up in theatre due to the success of his fame from The Untamed. I’m so happy for him and waiting for eng release version.
