I'm not gonna lie.. I just didn't like this season. (don't send hate istg I'm just saying my opinion) Even though I'm a massive fan of angst, this just wasn't it for me. I tried my hardest to sympathize with the characters but unfortunately had a pretty difficult time with it. At the end I did get Ji Woo's struggle but the whole "breaking up through a note and leaving" thing was absolutely unforgivable until we got the whole story. Maybe it's just me but I did not enjoy watching 10 episodes of Seo Jun being in the dark about Ji Woo's struggles while he was trying his hardest to get his boyfriend back (while not understanding why he was abandoned.) Maybe I just wasn't in the mood for this kind of angst. Maybe.
So how is everyone else doing? :'D I just finished ep 5 and I'm still crying my eyes out. Idk why exactly but this really hit me in the feels. Absolutely 100% worth watching. I really hope they'd make a season 2
Huh why are the rating so low?? I watched the first 4 episodes when they came out and decided I had better dramas to watch. Is this really a 6.8 rating drama or is it because ppl liked the original more? (I haven't watched Jane The Virgin so I don't care it isn't the same)
I really can't believe I thought this drama was gonna be good. The writing is just so bad. Like please episode 10 was probably the worst and most forced *we need drama for ep 10* moment I've ever seen. He was like sike haha let's break up?? Lmao are you srsly telling me that he spoke to Ze Shou's dad and immediately agreed to break up with him?? And his mom died jeesus. How could he possibly go through with the fake breakup when his bf just lost someone. I'm just utterly confused by whatever this drama is trying to do. The couples are both boring and the plot points that would be interesting, they just rush through so it's difficult to even understand what's happening. Idk bro I really shouldn't have started this but I have a hard time dropping dramas when I've already watched over 50%.
Honestly, it was lowkey cute drama. Attractive cast and a nice production with a pretty big looking budget. But it had literally no essence. There is no plot. No conflicts that actually make sense and no character development. I was genuinely enjoying this drama until some point where they completely gave up on the plot and just had multiple make-out sessions in one episode.
The first episodes weren't good either but then it just got .. worse? Like the plot isn't good, the script is horrible and the acting is meh. But that bed scene???? Insane how they thought there was nothing wrong with that. Good for them for fighting homophobia in China but srsly even I could have written a better script ...
ahh this brings back memories.. was like this even when i was waiting for new eps to air.. just rewatching the…
:'D I wish I had watched this when it was airing.. I have no self-control to stop myself from finishing a drama in a few days (no matter how long it is)
I finished watching this drama in 3 days ... my head hurts and I slept 5 hours last night but god damn it was so worth it. This was a great drama. Definitely the best historical cdrama I've seen.
It's pretty bad.. I was actually excited to watch this since I loved the anime but everything about this is just...meh the acting isn't great and the script seems awful. This should be a comedy but most of the time I just get annoyed when they're trying to make the scene funny.
I do not speak mandarin (so if anyone does correct me if I’m wrong) but have picked up a bit from watching cdramas.…
Actually Mandarin does use gendered pronouns! But they are pronounced the exact same way so there is no way to know for sure from spoken language. I checked the Chinese subtitles just now and they actually do use the character for she/her (她) throughout the movie. I checked the subtitles which are on Netflix but I'm not sure if those are the ones shown in movie theaters etc. But you are right. It's a tricky thing to translate but the Chinese subtitles were definitely using she/her on purpose. Those who know can enjoy the movie as a queer coming-of-age movie while others will never know the hidden storyline.
He, Him: pronounced as [ tā ]: 他 She, Her: also pronounced as [ tā ]: 她
I watched the movie yesterday and after these comments, I realized the whole hidden meaning of the movie :'D I'm lowkey mad at myself for not figuring out that he was gay. I'm gonna blame the subtitles for using she/her all the time but I'm not sure what the Chinese subs used... I'm gonna check them out later. But I guess they used she/her since he never really corrected her when she talked about his 'girlfriend'.
This is one of the most academically styled comments I've ever seen. Pleasingly written and argued! Honestly, I have to agree with you on every point. It's a good drama with many great aspects but it really could have been more than just good. I don't think I even have to write my own review since yours is this good XD
This is one of the worst dramas in 2021. The only reason I'm not completely dropping it is because there is only 2 episodes left. I'm gonna skip through those in 10 minutes and I'm gonna go on with my life. There is so many better dramas to watch. I don't think I've watched any of the episodes without skipping after episode 2.
like girl I'll take LBY if you don't want him
I am genuinely excited for that man's career. He is incredibly talented.
I completely forgot to mention but I lost interest after the kiss happened and literally nothing changed

Srsly couldn't they at least get a better-looking wig for him..
