First half was forced relationship by ML which can be considered slightly toxic & obsessive considering ML was totally obsessed with FL & always felt insecure. He wanted a family of his own with her exclusively which he never got during his childhood because of his messed up family issues & members. FL was only one closest to him since childhood which makes her, his only weakness. But later on ML improved his temper & supported FL instead of controlling her like before.
Meanwhile, FL misunderstood ML regarding her Father’s death & made him suffer for 5 yrs. of loneliness without her & their son. She hid their son's identity from ML. Although her actions were justified. She still supported ML even when she was upset with him.
Overall, it was a good one time watch. It wasn't boring that for sure. Chemistry between leads & their kisses were amazing to watch.
Chemistry was great but plot was worse... it was apparent both loved each other but couldn't be together as per her mother's dying wish which was ridiculous. ML death was abrupt without solid reason. Totally absurd story. All my 5 points goes to chemistry b/w ML & FL & their steamy kisses.
Too much confusions regarding fake spouses.... how could they not noticed so many similarities regarding spouses issues. It was really frustrating that even after witnessing that Anna was a such a trouble maker, why didn't they take strict action earlier? A mentally disturbed girl is creating so much chaos & police wasn't able to catch her.
Personally i didn't like Fl's acting much as she was monotonous throughout series... not creative at all. She should have made more efforts. Also her voice dubbing was irritating a lot. Lots of sighs & breathing noise while speaking.
ML should have been honest from the start with his plans regarding FL. All mishappenings could be avoided if he would share instead of his secret plannings & lack of communication. Why it was so easy for villian fl to exchange antidote with fake one? It was supposed to be confidential regarding how how important it was for both ML & FL. Antidote should be secret but it was out in open to exchange easily while all sacrifices must be in open but they kept secret from FL till the end. How ridiculous.
Most pathetic story i have ever seen... i was hoping for some happy moments/ending but nothing at all. Whole series based on ML ignoring his feelings for FL & made her life hell directly & indirectly. For a change, Fl took a good decision at the end to leave him forever.
Ml was super loyal & tunnel visioned in regards of love matter. He loved yang caiwei, the coroner regardless her changed appearance after 3rd episode onwards. He loved the person not physical appearance.
What ZLJ felt for BXS wasn't love. It was more of care & thankfullness/ gratefullness towards her as he never felt lonely in her presence. When both of them were drunk, he told her, her presence made him feel human as he felt obliged to make her happy in return for what she did for him, resulting the farewell date. Next morning after having heat of the moment, his actions clearly told, for him, his revenge for his father & guilt for FL's loss was more important to him than to have a future with BXS. He wasn't fully passionately in love with her like he felt for FL in earlier episodes.
Don't let the misleading reviews ruin ur judgment. This is truly a must watch... Not a single episode is boring... every one get what they deserves be it good ones or evil ones... truly a master piece... Don't know why negative reviews are highlighted as they are totally misleading. Even i was hesitating coz of reviews at first but m glad i ignored them.
The most sensible & strong FL character i hv evr seen in ancient chinese dramas. Both ML & FL complimented each other in terms of looks, intelligence, strategies & fighting. But ML's trust in FL was at his convenience. His priorities changes according to situations. While FL was consistent in her missions, priorities & plannings. ML was not interested in palace's politics but got himself involved as per his convenience & priorities which was very diplomatic & hypocritic on his part. FL was not wrong to pressurize him for taking power into his hands as ML's father & brothers were totally wrong choices for such power which they even proved time to time by misusing it.
