Ok, but seriously how does this show have 8.2? Rating? To put it bluntly the Main Leads simply cannot act in this drama. Their acting here is SO BAD. Like so bad! And plot? What plot? There is no plot in this!!! The only reason I continued to watch is for Perth. (And chimon too). And I guess I'm going to have finish this for them too.
I agree the acting was great, they all have talent and made the show really shine. I liked the show and will watch…
Apparently, while exaggerated, because its source material is a webtoon, South Korea does in reality have a problem of extreme violence and bullying among high school students. There are several dramas, being made currently showcasing this. And in such reported real-life cases, it has been found none of the adults who were aware ever stepped in, even when it happened in front of their eyes. Or that the perpetrators were brought to proper justice. And as for the dad, (he again, while lacking in understanding why his son did what he did), like a lot of the audience, sympathized and also felt for Sieun, simply because he knew, as we all know, Sieun wouldn't attack like a rabid, feral but calculated beast, unless pushed to the edge, and backed into a corner. He fought, not because he wanted to but because he had to. He needed to make those people hurt, hurt in the only way he knew how to.
To everyone crying that this is overrated, and doesn't deserve this high rating, let me tell you very humbly, in my very personal opinion, (which you are absolutely at your own disposal to heartily disagree), just a few of the reasons this series is simply superior:
1. The acting is flawless. 2. Everybody loves an underdog. 3. Bullies are universally hated. 4. The direction is perfect. 5. The pacing is spot on. 6. The emotions of the protagonists are so well done, you can almost feel them in your own brain. 7. The "violence" everyone's cribbing about, is actually quite well done and not over the top at all. (Marvel movies *for kids* have wayyy more violence than this). 8. The CHEMISTRY between the trio is palpable. It's an undefined sort of camaraderie, bordering on almost an unknown, unsaid, absolute devotion at least between Sieun and Suho. 9. The "villain" is relatable. Unforgivable, yet somewhere we do understand why he did what he did. 10. The scriptwriting is tight, fast-paced, and as good as a 2-hour movie. 11. The ending, makes you crave more. That's, again in my opinion, the best thing. 12. The ost, the opening credits; so freaking good. 13. Loss is shown in a way, that hurts but also is strangely very hopeful. 14. Jihoon, Hyun Wook and Hong Kyung. They didn't act, they lived. 15. For an adaptation, although not entirely following the story, this is as good as it gets. Which is, in fact, scary good.
I don't understand the negative comments I've been reading. It's like they are nitpicking anything they can criticize…
I am no way a Perth stan. And he is blowing me away precisely because this is the first time I am seeing him act this amazingly. And comparisons are bound to come when on one hand I am witnessing how amazing he is acting and then inevitably I am looking at the other actors in literally the SAME series, and feeling slightly let down.
The only one I stan in this entire messy drama, is Chopper. And Perth's acting is just chef's kiss. Chopper deserves the world, and Perth deserves to be acknowledged that he is actually outperforming every other actor in this drama. His acting is so subtle, so natural, and just simply perfect. Also, the two male leads are honestly kind of being terrible at acting in this, I don't know if they actually are bad at acting, or it's the director's fault or something else. Like why do all their dialogues sound so weird?! And just one more thing to add, who wrote this script???? Like seriously.
yes,but I have a bad feeling somewhere that sml is going to protect his wife ,i mean thats the most logical thing…
They should just do another drama together as leads, cause it's fire between Hye Kyo and Jung Sung Il🔥. I truly haven't seen her have so much potent sexual tension with another actor (with only a FEW scenes), since DOTS.
For sure, the ship has sunk before having a chance to sail.FL + 2nd ML has NEVER happened in K-drama. NEVER.
I really wanna manifest this! May do young rise to ML and if not may he possibly at least become the Main Villain/ another mastermind like dong eun! I'll take their crazy chemistry in any form!! Just need a little more interaction between them🥺
For us all, who are shipping dong eun and do young. Even if we know we are headed for total heartbreak. No one, simply no one can deny, the addictive chemistry between these two actors. Especially given the very limited screen time they shared.
I have always thought why do people treat others who are different from them so terribly? Reading the comments here makes me realize how narrow, biased, and parochial people's mindsets are to those who perhaps look different, behave differently, express themselves differently, have different aspirations, act differently, and want to visualize life away from the accepted norm. It's also sad to see how people fail to actually try, at least just a little, to understand and see relationships that might be slightly different from what is advertised as "normal".
I want to defend Kiyoi and Hira and their adorable relationship in all these asinine comments, but then I think there's perhaps no point at all in doing so because these commentators have most likely missed understanding the fundamental crux of their entire arc...

Also the Chinese version doesn't sound too bad.
