I think Ye Haoran is the ML. Liu Qing & Zhong Zheng are 2nd MLs. Ye Haoran got the girl, slept with her, had full blown intimacy. Liu Qing was rejected, Zhong Zheng will be in 2nd part more, so we still don't know who's the main ML, but Liu Qing is not for sure..
I've read the novel as it was the same shared universe with the Manga "Years of intoxication".. I've read the authors 3-4 works like "Apex predator", "sissy" ..I'd want to read other works, but got fatigued by self tormenting & crying lol. I'm a masochist reading Chinese angst BL but 4 novels back to back where ML abused MC is taking toll on my mental health lol. After 2 years of contemplating, I am going to watch the drama adaptation of the novel.. Yayyy, best of luck to me.. (I watched "a round trip to love",it wasn't completed. but now don't have the courage to watch "double helix".. I'm not young anymore & can't deal trauma like before, yet curiosity is gnawing me. I'm gonna try that after it's completed.. I didn't even watch "To my shore" for this same reason & decided to watch that after watching the especial episode trailer so lovey dovey.. With age, you can't take trauma, pain, emotional baggage personally or from 3rd hand. I now understand why my mum or grandparents didn't want to watch sad movies or cried when we then young people felt cringed lol)
I'm waiting for the reviews, trailer is promising & I like Wang Rui Chang. But watching perfect crown, 2 thai BLs, countless of short dramas in break of my work & sleepless nights putting a toll on me. ML's choice of scripts so far is fantastic, no drama of his disappointed me.. His eyes are intense, I hope to see him in a drama with more screen time (also in dark romance, I watched a recent drama him doing tounge kiss, daymn bro.. So good)
I couldn't fathom Huang Jun Jie as Bai zhen as I saw the "Ten miles of peach blossoms" and Yu Menglong was my Bai Zhen.. Bai Zhen & Zhe Yan had a bromance (kinda BL) like chemistry. In "Ten miles of peach blossoms" the chemistry between Ken Chang and Yu Menglong was so good, it was like the novel, there was something going on, but you can't put a finger on it.. It felt like Bai Zhen had feelings & Zhe Yan knew but feigning not knowing,that kind of love.. Huang Jun Jie & Baron Chen didn't have that chemistry.. I actually hated Huang Jun Jie, he's pretty, but his acting was weak.. I understood they didn't recasted Yu Menglong, may be that demon agency didn't let him act in the drama.. I'll forever miss Yu Menglong.. They killed such a talented man, may they rot in hell
