7.6 doesn't do this drama justice. Don't know the reason for such low ratings. What exactly is considered bad in this drama? The plot? The Acting? The Storyline? or the chemistry? I've watched the two episodes that's aired and all those mentioned weren't as bad as people made it to be. As a matter of fact, I loved the acting and the leads chemistry.

I think this negative review is coming from the reviewer's dislike for the FL. I also couldn't believe anyone would find Jin Mai's acting as mediocre.

You're criticizing the drama because you don't like the lead actress? Also, you said the story keeps going back and forth, but in what way? You also mentioned something about how this can't be compared with the double, I don't agree with that. The double and TPR are different dramas. XFF wasn't a princess, she wasn't raised in a beast abode like Li Rong was. Yes, the palace is a place for beasts. XFF had her father and brother's love while growing up, and thus, making her a loving person, but Li Rong didn't have all those. All she had was her brother's affection. Moreover, she was thought that love is but a dust in front of power, so how do you expect such a person with that kind of upbringing to be warm?
Furthermore, I think you've deviated from the plot. The plot of TPR is about a cold and strong-willed princess who's heart is melted by the resilient PWX.

Back to Jin Mai's acting. To be honest, Jin Mai's acting is one of the best I've seen since my years of watching historical cdramas. Her acting in TPR has captivated me, her expressions are spot on. The way she portrays her emotions is unique. She and Zhang Ling He makes the perfect pair.
Besides, if you want some Cinderella story, or some knight in shining armor story, then this is not it.

I agree, watching a drama while it's airing, is often better than waiting for all episodes to air before binge watching. Why? It's because the wait would be bearable due to the lively chatting section on the drama's page.

Yes, it makes me wonder, how someone who killed his beloved in the past, plan on protecting her in the present, when he's still the same SRQ of the past. He hasn't changed one bit. Someone has to wake him up from his dreams. The moment he said, "that's because of your status", this was only thing that I could think of, "I want his life".

Indeed, SRQ looked down on PWX in the past, he still looks down on him in the present. As for LR, I don't think she looks down on him, she's angry, I'd call it jealous because of ML supposed affection towards QZZ which eventually led to misunderstandings, and more misunderstandings, till a point of non reconcilation. In this lifetime, most misunderstandings that led to their demise in the previous life has been cleared up. What's left is for SRQ to reveal his beast side and finally show his true colors. Although I haven't watch episode 23, judging from the trailer, he said to protect the Su family, LC mustn't be allowed to ascend the throne. He wants to harm LC and ruin his path to the throne, LR won't just sit back, will she? Once SRQ becomes LC's enemy, then he'll have LR as an enemy too. When that happens, he'll be doomed eternally.

I'm not sure about SRQ screentime in episode 23, I haven't watch yet. Plan on watching, an hour or two hours before the airing of episode 24.
