It could be both, the guy is manipulative. He's allied himself with Consort Rou already, and that means, he's LR's enemy. No, he's always been her enemy, and LR has realized that.

Making amends? I don't think so, if he really wanted to make amends, he wouldn't have hindered her from establishing the inspectorate office. Protection? If he really wanted to protect her, why stop her from expanding her power? In my opinion, I think he hasn't changed one bit, he's still the same SRQ who values the power and reputation of the Su family above all else.

If I didn't know better, I'd think LR and LC are now enemies judging from their argument in court. Those two can really act! Loving all the schemes that's going on!

Mee too, I've rewatched many scenes in episodes 18&19 already. Can't get enough of those scenes. Episode 20&21 will be captivating!

Yes, even if PWX couldn't make it on time, LR wouldn't have married him regardless. SRQ thinks he's ruining their relationship, but little does he know that, each step he takes to ruin their relationship, just makes LR and PWX much closer.

Same here, I watch and replayed that scene more than three times to confirm I didn't hear the emperor's words wrongly. SRQ must have thought he'd be the one assisting LR with the inspectorate office without a doubt. Well, too bad, his plan didn't work.

"But, aren't you two friends?" PWX gaze was shooting arrows at SY when she asked that question.

"If she desires the world, I can give it to her. If she wants to live a tranquil life, I can provide that with her too." OMG, PWX is really romantic and admirable!
