I really wasted my time watching this drama. It would have made more sense if the drama was just about the domestic fashion industry and how they are competing with international brand. Also, all the romance depicted in this drama fell short in a lot of ways especially the story of the main lead couples. Not to mention her friend who died. Like, why the need to remake the story of step mom, to make it worse, it was incomplete and just utterly sad.Wow!! To many things made me lose it in this drama as it was purely unnecessary. There was just to much going on at the end, all I got in return for using sixteen hours of my life was just pure anger and frustration.
My advice would be for people to go watch Baby Faced Beauty.
Kang To Han's motive for wanting to bring the elites down wasn't strong enough. His niece was the cause of the fire not them. It was more like a transfer of aggression. What made more sense was the tenacity at which he went after the Minister.
The drama could have been one of both, the revenge for both the men who had something against the elites/system or the uncovering the reason behind the never ending plague and the dream project.
Also, the drama lacked the emotional connection for the characters. As there was too much going on, paying attention to the romance was almost impossible. Plus, it was so unnecessary for the police officer to die and also faking the death of Kang Yo Han twice was an overstretch.
All in all, the actors were amazing, they made the drama what it is.
I do think the drama if well written would be a gem.
I am literally pinching myself from expecting something else.
Yes, the promotion was quite good. Yes, the first two episodes were okay and very cliche like. Yes, they had a perfect cast.
But they messed it all up. From the overly calm female lead to the eccentric male lead, and finally the bad ex boyfriend.
It wasn't worth the watch. The editing was tiring, which made it hard to watch the whole thing.
Then there was the ending. Trying to switch things up by jumping messed up how beautiful and different it could have been.
One thing I did love was how through thick and thin the main leads stuck together and fought for their love.
Last but not the least, the main leads assistant character would have been better without being overly dramatic. And who in the world dressed her like that. The actress is beautiful an amazing. I hope she gets good roles in the future.
what do you mean type casted? He usually does action
1. Suspicious Partner his friend betrayed him, he got his heart broken and was sad for along time.
2. K2, he was frames for murder, couldn't handle it, was in depression for a long time, finally met someone he can love on a new mission.
3. Healer, his parents died and was left all alone. Finally found his lost love. Had to uncover the truth behind his parents death.
4. Backstreet Rookie, was betrayed by his past lover. Changed profession and met someone new.
5. Empress Ki (this was unique though and an amazing performance). He was a crazy king who married the love of his life, Empress Ki who was in love with someone else. He couldn't get over the thought of her loving someone else and people out to kill him.
P. S: The drama was tough, dropped it.
6. Lovestruck in the City, he fell in love with someone who was afraid to commit and couldn't get over it.
Also dropped this drama, was aggravating to watch.
7. Melting me softly, woke up years later from a deep slumber, fell in love with his counterpart and went on to uncover the reason behind the accidental long sleep.
So far, this are all his Dramas that I have watched. The theme has been simple. He always had a problem that he needed to solve and ended up falling for a damsel in distress.
His skill is on a higher level than this and he doesn't seem to land roles that show his true abilities.
Aside from Healer and Empress Ki, his performance were better than the script writing which made them difficult to watch.
All my opinion though.
You can compare his career with Lee Sun Gi.
1. King 2 Hearts was a serious drama, he had to be king. 2. My Girl friend is a Gumiho was just hilarious for its time, If it was done now, it would be annoying. 3. A Korean Odyssey, he was a monkey who fell in love with a human. I disliked the ending though. In My Girlfriend Is a Gumiho, he was a human who fell in love with a Gumiho. 4. Gu Family Book, he was actually a Gumiho. Ending not so good. 5. Mouse, he was a detective 6. Vagabond, he was a bereaved Uncle. 7. Shinning Inheritance, on the list of one of my most disliked K-Drama, but here he was a spoilt Chaebol.
My advice would be for people to go watch Baby Faced Beauty.

I mean it is completely awesome. Buckle up
