If I recall correctly, already in ep 1, she asked him to be her boyfriend, or something like that. And now in the final ep, here she goes again, asking him to marry her :0). The guy never gave her a clear straight answer.

Once a kid has seen or heard something, he won't 'unsee', 'unhear' it :0)
