Except for Ancient Detective, I haven't watched The Sleuth of Ming Dynasty or The Imperial Coroner. I did watch a couple of early episodes of those shows but somehow I dropped them. They didn't captivate me somehow.
On a side note, it's strange that YouTube Cdrama reviewers such as Marcus or AvenueX have never talked about Strange Tales of Tang Dynasty. AvenueX, for example, I believe, really liked Ancient Detective (she did a review of the show). It's odd that she didn't mention SToTD even once. Even though the drama is now trending on iqiyi. Is it because iqiyi isn't massively promoting it that those youtubers don't know?

Personally I don't have a problem with the pace. It's perfect for me. Maybe because I like this genre, investigation + wuxia. I also enjoy the dynamics among the characters and the fight scenes. I'd rather have a drama that starts slightly boring but gets exciting as it progresses than the one that starts exciting but gets boring after 10 eps. If you like this genre, I'd suggest you keep watching.

Couldn't agree more. Not many wuxia dramas have good fight scenes in recent years, so I'm pretty happy with the ones in this drama.

Personally I think she does. She actually helps a lot later. She gets better as the story progresses. This isn't a romance drama, she's just a supporting character so her character doesn't bother me that much. It's the dynamic between SWM and LLF that I care about.

It's a mix of everything I think. The X-Files + CSI + Scooby Doo + Wuxia.

I haven't got to that part yet. But what a sweet guy.. Everybody feels at ease when he's around. He's mature and plus he was under Di Renjie's tutelage.

1. Legend of The Condor Heroes 2017 version (there are many adaptations of Legend of The Condor Heroes but the 2017 version is the latest one). You'll see the actor who plays Lu LingFeng there too.
2. Heroes (2020) with Vincent Zhao.
3. Handsome Siblings (2020).

From the information about cast & crew on MDL, Yang Zhi Gan (Su Wu Ming) is the brother of Guo Jing Yu who is a producer/ screenwriter. Guo Jing Yu served as executive producer of this drama. Guo Jing Yu seems like a very good producer/screenwriter. I've watched 4 wuxia dramas (including this one) in which he's either producer, executive producer, or screenwriter. And I like all of them. I read that he likes HK old wuxia dramas. That's perhaps why his dramas are very good IMHO. Not surprised that YZG in this. They seemed to have collaborated many times before.

Fun fact, Yang Xu Wen (Lu Ling Feng) played as Guo Jing in Legend of the Condor Heroes 2017 also produced by Guo Jing Yu. So this is the second time YXW has worked under Guo Jing Yu production.

I know!!🤣🤣 It's hilarious but kinda sad at the same time. I mean the poor guy. I feel for him. But he takes it like a champ. He is maturing.

Cancel culture is toxic. It's a shame that reviewers are perpetuating this harmful behavior. They should give public an example of sensible thinking. A film or TV production is the work of many people involved and not just one actor. Probably hundreds of make-up artists, costume designers, cameramen, extras, and so on. Not to mention how people are actually missing out really good stuff because these reviewers refuse to recommend an actually good drama.

I like her too. She's really sweet. I like that her character has a good balance of spunkiness and self composure. And she does that very well.
