Title Kissable Lips Spoiler
LOL - that's exactly what I was thinking. And I still don't understand why a centuries-old vampire needs to go…
Yeah, that’s another plot hole right here btw. He’s a student in the same university he killed someone in, presumably as a student then too, and even hang out in the crime scene ? The person who made his cover story, with all the forgery required, must be insanely rich.

Title Kissable Lips Spoiler
I lost all interest in this the moment I saw Jun Ho being handed ”packaged blood”. It makes the problem (risking the life of Min Hyun while drinking his blood) absolutely non-existent : just draw the quantity you need over a few days, a week or two maybe, then drink it all. Sure, they’re still possibly is the ritualistic importance of the act, since love is needed but even then, it wouldn’t kill to try).

From the ones I watched, it is actually quite rare that they use labels. Even if past relationship with women are mentionned, it doesn’t necessafily implies ”straightness”.
And as far as Japan knowing about bisexuamity and everything else, they have access to the internet and tv.
The opinions of ONE character doesn’t portray the intention of the author/director/cast members. You’re offended by a relatable representation of prejudice that was shown to be bad in the show, and i don’t get why

i was enjoying the show until episode 8 came out. The point of episode was educating people about same sex relationship,…
You’re assuming he’s straight but he might be a biromantic demisexual. Or asexual, since there wasn’t any mention (at least that I remember) of Aoki having sexual desire for Ida and Hashimoto. Even if they’re fictitious, you shouldn’t just put label on people. That’s just plain rude.
Also, Japan in 2021 is far from being the sole country where straight guys in particular, though potentially a bigger part of the popultion, assume that liking one guy means you wouldn’t mind doing it with any other man.

And I also agree with dramatour, by calling the teacher prejudiced, Aoki did enough.

(I’m not sure about education being the main point of this episode, though. It may just have been Aoki having a relatable experience to lgbt viewers... Since I highly doubt that people in need of an education will watch BL and pretty sure anyone who produces BL is very much aware of that)

Title My Love Mix-Up! Spoiler
Hmmm...guys, there is something that is bothering me about some "BL fans". They seem to have forgotten what BL…
Actually, I had that thought recently that most BL couples are more homo or bi romantic demisexuals (if we really care about putting a label on them). ^^
And I agree with you on the fantasy part, though I admit I do love when a show goes a bit more in depth into the reality with characters admitting readily that they’re gay or facing homophobia (it allows a very small, narrow view of how the lgbt+ community is or thought to be in those countries)... also, my suspension of disbelief just totally disappear wben absolutely no ohher character is like ”what do you mean, you like him ? He’s a boy”. Maybe it’s my own prejudice, but from the articles I read about lgbt+ in Thailand, S. Korea and Japan, being openly anything else than straight isn’t very well perceived.
That’s why I kinda liked the part of the tutor, in this BL specifically, with all his prejudices. It doesn’t take the fantasy away, but still show a somewhat classic, relatable reaction (straight guy thinking he is just that much irresistible to someone who like other guys).

Title Discipline Z: Vampire Spoiler
Watch Discipline, then this in almost one seating.
The only fault I could find to Discipline : too short (it kinda make me think of SKAM, for those who know, except it was very surprising coming from Korea).
The two redeeming thing to Vampire : the return of Ji-han and one shot that literraly gave me vertigo.

It has no links to the first season exxcept Ji-han and Tae-woo meeting up, the storyline is rushed, the character development is inexistent and the characters are cliché (yes, you fake, utterly grating laugh b**ch, I am looking at you). And not to mention that as a French myself, I am gutted that only two character (just for a phone call) speak french when finally our evilness is revealed and the vilainness is a french girl.

They don’t do anything physical, but without them the counters would have no powers to begin with .
And they do risk their live : if their partner die, they do too unless they found another quickly and it’s shown that it’s not easy to find someone comatose and wiling.
Wi Gen almost die several times because of So Mun’s reckless actions too...

I understand what you mean, but even then there was option other than that. I would’ve been fine if he was a young man who’ve done something terrible to his brother and seek forgiveness as an adult mature enough to understand his mistake and was shown suffering because of it. That, in my opinion, would have make a good storyline for him... whereas they showed him with Hin as a sort of narcissist perv in a very toxic relationship (at least for the two minutes we saw)... doesn’t invite much pity

Well, if it was a reboot like 2moons2 i’ll be fine, but there they kept elements of the first timeline and for me it’s just a confusing mess... I also don’t find Tin’s brother past really interesting/useful to the serie except to force a new pairing so...
I can’t say about the novel, I find translations to usually be messy at best...

Finally a bl’ character with good reflexes ! There’s so many privacy issues in those dramas. Too bad he ended up listening to her stereotypical ”ur gay cuz my fujoshis power declared you so”. (Though I did appreciate that he end up liking her, might be a nicer way forherto recognize she’s an idiot that the slap I wanted her to get)

@Darkstarz lmao, you thank me like I'm no part of the lgbt, I'm not sure how I should take it... (though even IRL people are usually surprised when they find out XD ).

I understand what you mean about the episode being too brutal, but well... I think that was what the writers wanted to portray in the end and for me it's one of the reason for which this drama is an excellent one ^^

I didn't said you did. I just meant that I think it's something important for the scriptwriters to take in consideration. It seems we disagree on a fundamental level about it, since I think it's important to show those so that people outside the LGBT community can understand it better. Fair enough, I don't think some hardcore homophobic dude will watch it, but someone like you, me or anyone can start introducing other peopleto it, who will then have the possibilty to talk about it too.... thus spreading the understanding that lgbt lives aren't any different. A drama, whatever its ending, won't stop a suicide unfortunately but someone's parent/family member/friend having knowledge about and understanding the difficulties an lgbt person encounter may because they will stop treating them wrongly (hopefully). I understand what you mean about positivity, and yes it's good to have some but it's important that it doesn't cage the "genre". The fact that we talk about "bl genre" is already enough of a problem.
The recent controversy of Mean and Perth "leaving bl" to take deeper and more fullfilling role is ultimately due to the fact that the genre is restricting himself while, if there were more tragic stories (or closer to reality), it could instead attract other actors, perhaps some already famous in other genre...

TLDR : Ultimately, the best thing to help lgbt through drama is spreading awareness, positivity alone won't cut it.

I didn't know about that promise, I'm not that involved in the BL community, though it does explain.
But regarding the positivity and encouragement needed by the lgbt... Honestly, I can't tell how life is for lgbt in Taiwan, but LGBT need more than anything to be treated as normal. The number of happy ending in BL is just too much and honestly, once I got over my little grief, I was thankful for having something different for once. Cuz lgbt live tragedies too, some related to the fact they are lgbt, some that can be experienced by anyone regardless of their identity. And acknowledging that is great. LGBT aren't in crystal. It's hard to be lgbt and enduring those hardships made us stronger. So yeah, it's nice to watch the perfect little fairy tales from the BL genra... It's even better when they acknowledge the hardship and show it.

On HIStory3: Make Our Days Count Apr 8, 2020
I finishef the serie several hours ago and I feel like I went through grief. (and judging by some reviews, some clearly having been written through the anger stage, I'm not alone lol). Anyway, it's clearly one of the best drama I know. Not Bl drama. Drama, final. Yes, Yu Shigu death was absolutely pointless. That's what makes it a beautiful and relatable story. Because death is meaningless, yet even a love as powerful as the one experienced by Yu Shigu and Xiang Haoting couldn't escape it. If anyone ask me if they should watch the show, I'll sure say yes. It was definitely a great experience. Not sure about rewatching it, I'm not sure I could handle the feels.
And to people who may have feel wronged by the lack of an happy ending or those who think that there's some kind of "political message" in that (seriously wtf?) ... Well, what kind of life do you leave in which gay couples always get an happy ending? Tragedy isn't a curse only targeting heterosexual people and I for one am happy to have watch a beautiful, though extremely tragic, story about love.

My piece on what I figured about "what Mean said", without viewing the interview (because I don't care enough to search for it).
Even without considering reputation as an actor or that they play gay character, I find it amazing that there's actors who made several BL dramas for one reason alone : the fanbase. Because, while I understand it's nice to dream about our favorite character getting together, it's something else altogether when you do it with real people, writing fanfics about them, expecting them to act like a couple in fan events, editing video about it.. projecting your desire to see fiction come true on people who have a life already - sorry not sorry but I cannot not make a parallel with Reylo writing on internet how they wish Adam Driver's child die so that he leaves his wife and end up with whatever her name. Yeah... those kinds of people exist, and from what I seen in the BL fan community... not that far away.
The problem of shipping real people together is even kinda adressed in Why r u? (though in a comedic and backfiring way, obviously) with Zon being angry with his sister for shipping him in her novel. And another drama coming this year is even titled "Shipper" (though it'll probably more comedic than anything).
So yeah, i'm sure there's actor satisfied with being shipped and playing only BL and amused that there's fanfic about them or shit like that.
But in the same way, if I were to ask a bl actor what he thought about shipper and he answered it scares the hell out of him I wouldn't be surprised.
So whatever the reason Mean want out of the BL, you ought to take into consideration that he doesn't belong to you, he have no need to report to you about his choices... Just imagine someone throwing a fit because Johnny Depp announced he'll be only playing serious characters and he wants to leave the weirds one behind him - stupid, right? I mean, it's his career choice, and it might be nice to see him in something else.
And honestly, if you do think that Mean ought to do BL no matter what, or apologize for "upsetting the fans", well dear I'll be happy to let you take my session at my therapist, because even though I have problems at least I am not one.
