Title The Empire of Gold Spoiler
The one thing I'll never get in korean dramas business genre, is how even if a woman comes from a wealthy…
I've finished it and it was highly entertaining, no romance just pure machination, manipulation and very nasty people. Never ever have I enjoyed nor finished a fiction where I was despising almost everybody. Our three protagonists, not one better than the other, even if the beginning I could have find them some excuses or reasons, in the end they were just dosh and power vampires and no less. They were humans nonetheless but from the dark side of this venal society that you wish you'll never cross path with.
I liked how the character of Seol Hee Seonbae did evolve though, from trash & sleazy to high-class using her brain for a change. And of course they could have spared us the "she's sacrificing herself for the first main actor by offering her body to an old pervet", but anyway, who's perfect hein...

Now, the drama sould have been shorter, 20 episodes would have been plenty enough, because aroud episode 18, I was only watching one episode per day instead of three or four before. But I have to applaude the originality of the scenario for enabling every of our three main leads to sat on the throne at least one time. I wasn't expecting that, because it almost never happen in k-dorama-land, so it was a nice surprise.
The second thing I did appreciate was that our héroïne did become more or less like her father, despite her thinking that she was doing it for the sake of the family heritage, it's clear that she was doing it to reign in potency in her own-made queendom. How often do you see in k-doramas that a woman can be as collusive, tough and treacherous as any man, without even using her sex-appeal. That actress have all my respect!! And indeed, she was always talking about sending Jang Tae Joo to his ghetto, because he was too ghetto for their world!! That made laugh real hard, such huge gap between being born well-heeled and becoming one. Those opulent folks so full of themselves, thinking their lifestyle is so covetable, they are so pitiful...
And last, but certainly not the least they all did get their comeuppance and it was quite exhilarating to contemplate. I had just wished to see the woman lead in prison, because along the way she became the greediest after all, even if it wasn't shown quite as blatant as our first main lead. Maybe cause it was her father company, so the emphasis on her greediness seemed more acceptable, but I don't buy that. Because one must not forget how she also hurt her poor innocent younger brother, who was caught between her and his mother, she should have gone on an excursion in jail too, well she almost did...
However, she did pay the heavy price in the end. Damn, how I was smirking inside when she was dining all alone, at the large table of her huge father's manor.

I could never thank you enough for recommending me to give this drama a second chance, it was really worth it, and it's true that some series do need more patience to better appreciate what's coming next. God bless you a thousand times dear PrettyCarEye, and I mean it.

Too bad for me, but I read your spoiler before reading your message above, but that's for the best, because now you arguments really made me want to give this drama a retry. That reminded of Illumination/Night Light "불야성" also played by the same main actress. But I should have known better, because indeed the woman lead didn't disappoint me in the few dramas I've seen her so far.
You're right, I didn't give this drama the chance it deserved, cause when it comes to Kdramas they tend to overuse the same patterns so much, and not in a good way mind you, that it makes you sick sooner that later. And it's funny that you talked about Hanzawa Naoki, because I drop that waste of time for the exact same reasons.
Anyways, thank you very much for your great argumentation, because there aren't that many dramas that I dropped but still wanted to give them another chance in the near future.
When I feel disappointed by a drama, I always search for major spoilers, because I've wasted so many precious hours enduring awful doramas, that I don't have the patience anymore to go through, when a drama doesn't entertain anymore.
But now, I'm really planning to resume this drama very soon and I'll give my whole thought about it when I'll finish it.

What I found ridiculous is how they'd rather acknowledge fake plastic beauty like if it was no big deal!! I'm not that naïve and I know for sure that good looking people attract more, I'm not even debating on that. But why can't they show that you can also be appealing by simply doing a makeover and not necessarily a complete facelift. The way they always associate chubby people with clumsiness or ugliness is way beyond tolerable and discriminating. I see that enough in real life to just sit still and keep watching it on television.

After watching a lot of mediocre dramas in 2016, I really miss this drama because it was an amazing roller coaster…
Exactly, I thought the same. I was so sad when it ended, even wishing for more episodes. It's one of the best kdrama of year 2016 in my humble opinion. I love most of the characters, especially our two main leads of course!!

I just really didn't like the male lead. The things he said to Ammy about Hannah in the bathroom in the beginning…
That's why I couldn't enjoy the movie at its fullest nor their relationship. The guy was scum and didn't deserve her. He couldn't even dare to touch her hand when she was fat, feeling almost disgusted, even the scene where she jumped in his arms, he clearly didn't like that. But then, when she appears all redone and sexy, he can't wait to get his hands on her, because he's so full of lust. I only watch til the end, hoping she would confront him about what he said in the toilets, too bad that never happened!!!

Clearly, I dropped the drama for the same exact reason. The only thing I would applaude is that they didn't disguise a skinny woman, making her look anything but human with fake fat parts here and there. This drama show how immature TV and entertainment can be. I was feeling sick to my stomach when after the plastic surgery every stranger or so praises miss fake beauty especially her strawberry face-like, ridiculous at the very least.

Person Dong Ha
Truly "un grand acteur" that deserve more leading roles, he's so much better than some overrated actors, that's nonsense!! In "Last" and "Kim Kwajang", he was daebak!!! Mochissooo!!!
That really proves he has a wide range of acting skills, and those eyes, he can pierce through you with them or mesmerize you, what's worse hein?!

Title Neko Zamurai
A comedy tag should really be added, cause I never thought it would be that funny. It's great that the lenght of the episodes was that short, giving the slice of life pace its suits better with the drama mood. I love animals especially cats, but I really dislike historical settings, however that wasn't the case here. Indeed, it added an authentic simplicity that maybe a contemporary staging would have lacked.
On Neko Zamurai Season 2 Mar 17, 2017
After watching both seasons, I can clearly state that the 1st one was my favourite. Indeed, I didn't like that in the 2nd season, they try to make us accept new faces, matching with the old cast personalities, that fell miserably flat to me. Too many reuse of what had already been done in the previous season, so disappointing in the end. But at least, the last episodes with Samurai's stepmother arrival were the best, truly enjoyable, so that save the serie.

Title Mr. Duke
Looking at the bill, I was so sure it was a jdrama. Damn, old kdramas were really simple I must say. I always get the country wrong only judging by the posters.

What truly shocks me is how some things have changed for the worse in dramaland since 2007 or 2008. In this drama, it was already the beginning of mobiles phone madness era, not that great regrettably...
Anyway, in this serie I'm so glad to see ordinary people with average clothes and features more or less. Even, if it's clear to me that most of them had plastic surgery, they still appear natural and asian. It's a relief that their operation doesn't seem that obvious, because unfornunately plastic surgery have tend to become the mandatory norm nowadays.
Other fact, women in here have different body shapes and they all have curves, like most real common women do!!. It you look at today doramas, no matter the age of women between 20 and 60, they are all so skinny or spindly that it's not even credible, they don't have an once of fat, even after giving birth. How is that even possible??!!

I'm disgressing as always, I really like the dresses that Soo Jin wears, when she goes to receptions in order to meet some of her potential future spouse(s). It really brings me back to the princess gowns they use to do at the time, with brillant/bright colours. I wish I could wear similar attires one of these days...
The pacing is quite slow, but if you've from the older generation, it will probably bother u less. Indeed, today in most dramas everything goes so fast with cliffhanger endings for each episode, that you feel obliged to marathon the whole thing cause you can't bear to wait, it's hallucinating, when not frustrating!!

Title The Empire of Gold Spoiler
The one thing I'll never get in korean dramas business genre, is how even if a woman comes from a wealthy family and can show great professional skills. She can't almost never achieve anything alone, by the sole merit of her trying real hard. She also gets emotional for nothing and isn't tactician enough. So she has to marry the guy who will help her reach real success. Well saying "help" is a big world, because in the end it's more the other way around, with the woman lead just being the support for the man.

I'm so sick and tired of their never-ending sexism, every meeting and when it was involving big business matters the only woman present was the woman lead, who by the way portrays a stronger character than what we have the habit to see. But that was still not enough to truly satisfy nor convince me to keep watching.

The woman who plays Seol Hee was a nasty piece of shit, and to think I was feeling sorry for her in the first episode. She's the type of woman in drama I truly despise, only there to display her charms with no substance at all, and calculating with that. Nevertheless, that still give them no excuse to resort to so much gratuitous violence against her. The violence against the man protagonist was also quite nasty.
Most of the characters were despicable and I couldn't even empathize with our man lead, because already in episode 4, he has become so greedy and arrogant that you know it's not gonna augur well at all!!
On 101st Marriage Proposal Mar 13, 2017
Title 101st Marriage Proposal Spoiler
I couldn't agree more with the comments, the woman protagonist is the reason why I had to drop the drama. It's like they can't do romances without adding a third wheel or a despicable character, when it's not both. Reason why I tend to avoid romance genre as if my weel-being was depending on it. Just because that Kaoru witch is so popular among men, she thinks she has all the right to treat them as if they were her personal toys or slaves, especially when she thinks they are out of her league?! What's worse is people tend to love when one character is clearly abusing another, be it man or woman. What the heck is wrong with these people, since when bullying verbally and even physically someone that truly cares for you has become acceptable?? That could only leave me speechless reeling in disbelief!!

My goodness, I couldn't agree more. You look at her and you immediately think "Finally an actress with a natural face, at least looking human". Most of them K-actresses look so stiff with the excessive plastic surgery, or they are just ridiculously artificially pretty. And most of them K-actors with all that bowl hair cut with big frame, and teeth clipping like if it was the norm. Worst is people have the nerve to praise their alleged beauty?!
And don't u dare think otherwise, or they'll lash out at you unceremoniously. In what world are we seriously living, where the fake have now dethroned the authentic without any shame!!

Title Last Money - Ai no Nedan Spoiler
I really liked this because it showed just how cunning most women really can be, and truly not care who they hurt.…
What I didn't like is how that woman who have a decent man, no wait a wonderful man who genuinely loves her and he's also so fond of her kid. So why, oh why did she have to trick him?! Couldn't she just be satisfy with the way things were, living a simple yet meaningful life with him and her son. It's like she was despising all the men on earth, and for what reason, we never really get to know why she did all that.

It doesn't makes sense at all, but the worst part was him intending suicide for a nasty woman like her who doesn't even deserve such attention, and the poor son that will become orphan cause naughty mama is going to prison.

You shouldn't generalize your assumption on women like that, because the exact same can be said about men. It's more a matter of not being human anymore and manipulative people can be find everywhere on earth, regardless of the gender. For example some women only care about money, but some men too.
And if a man has all the right to be picky when it comes to beauty plus attractive body, then he shouldn't complain that women are only after his dough, because he's only after their appearance too. It's 50/50, cause they are both in the wrong for being so superficial mind you. You can lose your beauty as you can lose your money.

Title Heart to Heart Spoiler
I'm already in love with this show! The lead is so cute and adorable I'm completely sold! @u@ A shame…
I was definitely feeling the same in the beginning, I was hoping she would end with Jang Doo Soo despite the cover, but we all know it rarely works like that in kdramas... I won't say I'm glad she ended with Go I Seok, cause he did deserve to be slapped real hard from time to time. But it wouldn't have been dramatesque otherwise, would it!! I was hoping she wouldn't end with any of them, cause I don't have the sentiment that any of the guy wanted to be with her due to genuine attraction and affection and such. It's more like she was that innocent and fragile creature they wanted to protect.

Don't forget that Doo Soo rejected her nicely when Cha Hong Do finally gather the courage to confess her true feelings to him. Not only that, when Doo Soo realize that Hong Do couldn't get over him, he even told her that he already have a fiancée, when in fact the relationship with his fiancée was close to the break-up. Our heroïne was so miserable, poor her and it was Yi Seok who helped her think less of Doo Soo little by little, even though he could be despicable at times and she should have been more harsh toward him.

And last but certainly not least, did you forget that Doo Soo only started to get interested in Hong Do, because he saw our two main leads getting close to each other as almost a real couple. And as nice and endearing as Doo Soo was, he probably wouldn't have care if he didn't notice our two main protagonists complicity growing stronger day by day. When he learned that Hong Do spend the night at Yi Seok's house, he's so disappointed but I was thinking "What the heck is that sad face for??!! You had your chance and totally blew it away, serves u right man!" It's a shame that some people will only start considering you as potential suitor, the moment they'll see that someone else is coveting you.

I was just thinking that Kang Ji Hwan and Hwang Jung Eum would make such an amazing couple, and would love to…
There is little to no romance, or rather a hint of it. It is more axed on the money machination, plus vengeance and such. You'll be clearly disappointed if u only care about romance, because even though they become a couple, it's just a subplot of the drama. But the last scene of their wedding was my favourite though, because it proves he truly loves her for who she really is, and not for what she has become, (she gain back all the loss weight). How real is that!!
On Net Deception Mar 6, 2017
I wasn't expecting much, but it was more entertaining than I thought it would be. But they should have stopped after 15 or 16 episodes. I stopped before end of episode 17 because I find it less interesting and I was clearly forcing myself to watch the thing.
It's not that of an old drama, but for crying out loud the montage sometimes came very close to amateurism. They were cutting some scenes at the worst time ever, and as if it wasn't enough, some episodes were even cut 2 to 3 minutes before the real ending, leaving you with a wide mouth open on an awful cliffhanger shit??!! Excuse the bad language.
I really like Yiu-san character, my goodness such gorgeousness should be banned, his allure and clothes too, whaouuh!! I was telling myself, don't be fool and stop drooling over that face, he has his nose and eyes done, like almost most of them celebrities, such a pity...
Anyway, he was a good actor, very natural and I could feel he has stage presence. He was one of the best among the cast and his character was really complex, I liked that.

Title Mop Girl
I wasn't expecting anything, and I was really surprised to enjoy it that much, I agree with most of the comments, and the reviews, which is quite rare and so that's quite cool, because this fiction didn't disappoint me on the contrary.
If you love series such as "Scrubs" or "Les bleus, premiers pas dans la police", or "Ally Mac Beal" (but only the comedy side for this last one), you'll absolutely love to watch this. Now even if there were lots of gags and jokes here and there, it had some serious moments that were nicely played.
I also love the fact that it had that "anime manga" feeling but in a good way, mind you. Indeed, I usually dislike it when they try too hard to be animé-esque, but it didn't bother me in here, because they gauge it the right way or the right amount should I say.
One of my favorite episode would have to be the one with the quirky novelits, they were all so damn hilarious, et une mention spéciale pour le personnage de Karenko, un seul mot: superbe!!!

Title Age Harassment Spoiler
But the reason why I didn't finish it, is because of that 5th episode in question, this was a real disappointment, what the heck did she had sex with the guy, of all the men she could have been with!!!! No redeeming elements can save this. Worse is, she cleary stated to that guy who's 36, that middle-age men like him attracted to only youngsters (she's 22) were pitiful , yeah right.... The same guy, who by the way happen to already have an affair with her section chief, could this be more shameless (the guy, not our protagonist)?! I don't think so.
I would have prefer no sex at all, yeah I'm quite hard to please.
