I wouldn't say the second one is the remake. Both dramas are totally different and the only thing they have in common is the name. If I had to choose between which one is better, the first one is definitely the best without a doubt.

I really liked the first season of the Japanese version. There is a Korean version as well, but I really didn't like it and didn't even finish it.

Well I like Romance, Comedy, Melodrama, and love historical dramas. I love when a drama makes me cry, that's when I know its good. I really LOVED Innocent Man one of my favs, definitely deserved a 10 :D

You should watch Iljimae, Warrior Baek Dong Soo, and Jin. They are really good historical dramas.

Yes I really do need to watch it ASAP and its great to hear there will be a sequel. What are your favorite kind of dramas?

I've only seen Takeru in Mei-chan no Shitsuji and Beck both great. I really need to watch Rurouni Kenshin, its on my PTW list. I hadn't seen SJR in those MVs thanks for the recommendations :D I really miss his long hair :(
