I remember when started Ever Night all people seying about the bad acting of Arthur Chen? and now S2 is going to a hole... just wait... looks a hight production drama with deep historyline with a lot of details, is not cheap for sure and they for sure did a serious casting.
The plot was really predictible... but there are some parts really good, for me the best scenes are from the comedy and the championship tournament was really well made and I didn't expect that part of the plot when they communicate trought morse. Probably Hai knows already who he really "is" or did becuase when he said "I have no turning back" and he don't wanna hurt Wang Lu, that's why he left. Overall 8. I hope second season to finish the history.

Agree, but the casting team is pushed by someone... you know (Tencent) XD. Probably they didn't done even a casting for Dylan just put there. Because is a "pro star". Probably in others roles, but in Ever Night no. He should not accept it the offer, but how it works for Tencent production he can't go away... just pushed out Arthur Chen, to put Tencent actor... I checked your watching list and you are watching Joy of Life, you will see why I'm telling you this and why that drama is special. One tip, pay attention to every detail of the episodes. I/we will not have expression at all to describe it... Because is a project for 3 Season too... but "Ever Light" will die in S2... most likely.
